Rockies on Pace to Be Remembered for All the Wrong Reasons

espn

Kyle Farmer just shrugged when asked about being part of a Colorado Rockies team that has the fewest wins through 70 games since the 1899 Cleveland Spiders.

“We don’t care,” Farmer said after Saturday’s 4-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves left Colorado with a 13-57 record.

The Rockies have the fourth-fewest wins by any team through their first 70 decisions in a season in MLB history, and the fewest since the 1899 Spiders won 12 of their first 70 decisions. Colorado (.186 win percentage) is currently on pace to go 30-132 this season.

“I mean, there’s nothing we can do about it,” Farmer said. “It is what it is. We’ve just got to show up tomorrow and play. There’s nothing you can really say about it except that if it happens, it happens.” More

  1. Harry, it’s 6 zip Mariners over Guardians right now in the bottom of the 8th. My daughter is on her way to Seattle this afternoon to see the Mariners play the Boston Red Sox on Monday thru Wednesday. The Red Sox are her favorite team. Hopefully the M’s can beat the Red Sox, they just came off of a 3-game sweep pf the Yankees today at Fenway Park. We both hate the Yankees, my daughter wants a bumper sticker that says God hates the Yankees. The ballgame just ended with the Mariners 6 Boston zip, hooray, Of course, since I’m a diehard M’s fan I’m rooting for the Mariners.

  3. Yes. Then they wonder why I haven’t paid for any tickets this year. The worst team ever. I remember when they first started in the 1993 and they did so well with the early teams (though not pitching). NL pennant in ’07.
Wondering what the Blake Street Bombers are thinking about this. Galarraga, Walker, Bichette, Castilla, Helton. Not sure what they think about this years catastrophe, but I am guessing it isn’t good.

  4. She’s a hard-core Red Sox fan only traveling from Spokane to Seattle. Although last year she did fly to Boston to watch the Red Sox play the Mariners for 3 games at Fenway Park. She hated or didn’t understand baseball until 2004 when the Red Sox won the World Series, and she became a huge Red Sox fan. Her and my son who is a big Dodgers fan have quite the sibling rivalry going on over who is the better team. And I’m in the middle because I’m a diehard Mariners fan since 1977.
