If the founders had been a bit more prescient they could have written a twenty year residency requirement prior to voting in local or State elections and we wouldn’t have to deal with the filthy bastards crapping up decent places. It takes decades and a lot of effort to build anything it only takes a fraction of the time and minimal effort to destroy what others have built.
There is nothing that says NYC can’t look like Detroit. It’s not as though Trump is going to bail them out.
President Trump should have endorsed each demoncrat.

But never mention -AT ALL- that Mamdani can do absolutely nothing unless the NYS legislature sits back and allows it.

NYC has been getting liberal in small steps for a long time. Each small step has caused some conservatives to leave. The end result is NYC gets more liberal as time goes by. I hope they absolutely get hammered by this piece of garbage so that they learn their lesson. I think the libs are too far gone to learn.
I wholeheartedly agree with Catturd. The upsides are that, except for the lunatics in the DC suburbs, the Dems/Commies did not win by landslides. In other words, no trend, no mandate.
Of course, they are leftists, so no broad public mandate is required, just the win…and it doesn’t even have to be a legitimate win. In fact, winning by cheating seems to be preferred. It underscores the inevitability of their dominance — that your vote counts for nothing. It truly is what Democracy looks like, to them.

As far as NYC goes, de Blasio was a true blue commie and Adams, a squishy socialist and a racist. Mamdani is just more of the same.
He was the Anti-Trump, the ideal candidate for the domesticated Sheeple eager for promises of more free stuff, and the Open Borders, DEI, BLM, Antifa, From-the-River-to-the-Sea leftists that infest the city, and just palatable enough for the Orange-Man-Bad crowd to vote for, even if they had to swallow a bit of vomit (theirs, probably, but it is NYC) in the process.
Robert DeNiro, actor and loudmouth, was ecstatic over Zohran Mamdani’s election victory in the New York City mayoral election.
To assembled reporters DeNiro said that Mayor Mamdani will make NYC once again a wonderful place to live in.
Reporter: Mr. DeNiro, what will Mayor Mamdani do to make that happen?
DeNiro: He’ll get rid of all those who profit off the people’s misery. No more high prices for food, fr’ example. Like, fr’ example, a farmer digs up a potato and sells it to his customer. No middleman, no profit, no capitalism. The farmer gets paid for the value of the potato, and that’s all.
Reporter: How does the farmer get paid for his labor, like buying the seeds, cultivating it, digging it up, all of that stuff? Is that part of the potato’s value?

When my wife was a small child, her family would bribe a government official for the right to glean potatoes from a harvested field, so they’d have enough food to eat over the winter.
