Shady Comey Sues to Block GOP Subpoena–What’s he Trying to Hide?

Dan Bongino: Lawyers for former FBI Director James Comey filed suit in federal court yesterday to challenge the House Republican’s subpoena to testify behind closed doors, prompting House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) to question what the former official is trying to hide.

The filing–which is riddled with attacks on both Republicans and President Trump–states that Comey wants to prevent the Republican panel “from using the pretext of a closed interview to peddle a distorted, partisan political narrative about the Clinton and Russian investigations through selective leaks.”

Further, the lawsuit states a “poisonous combination” of “selective leaks” and tweets from President Trump “mislead the public” and “undermine public confidence in the FBI and the DOJ” (Never mind the fact that Comey admitted to his own selective leaking of details of his private interactions with Trump).

Comey has repeatedly said he would be “happy” to appear in a public hearing to “sit in the light and answer all the questions.”

However, Republicans see right through his request for a public hearing, which would enable him hide behind the excuse that he cannot answer certain questions in a public setting.

Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) told Fox News, “Did (Comey) interview Hillary Clinton in public? Did he interview George Papadopoulos in public? Did he interview Michael Flynn in public? Did he interview Huma Abedin…Cheryl Mills? Has the FBI ever conducted an interview in public and has the FBI ever conducted an interview where you are limited to five minutes, which is what happens in Congressional hearings.”

“The last time I saw Jim Comey in a public Congressional hearing, almost 100 times he said ‘I can’t answer in this setting,’” Gowdy continued. “So why in the world would he want to go back to a setting where he knows he can’t answer all the questions? I’m sure he only wants me to have five minutes. I’m sure of that,” he said. more

  1. Brad, as Winston Churchill said, “history is written by the victors”. We still need to bury these bastards!

  2. Hello Mr. Comey.

Nice respiration you have going on there. Would be a shame if anything should accidentally happened to it.

Know what I mean, Mr. Comey?

  3. That Judge McFadden is a Trump appointee there’s hope he’ll rule constitutionally rather than make law as Comey’s atty requested. However, he was senate approved 84-10 so he could rule either “Wray”.

No matter. The devil in the blue drapes will simply plea his case in patriotic prose via Twitter and all the brilliant legal eagles will agree.

  4. Trump should nominate Joe Digenova and let the sparks fly. He’s been calling out these scum nightly and is fearless. I wish he would just for the entertainment value let along the bloodbath he would bring.
