Shark kills Australian wildlife worker on Great Barrier Reef

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — A shark fatally mauled a young Australian wildlife worker on the Great Barrier Reef, officials said Tuesday.

Queensland state Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the 23-year-old victim worked for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.

“Once again a family out there is grieving for a young man who tragically has lost his life in this horrific shark attack,” she told reporters. more here

  1. Out that way if the sharks don’t get you, the Saltwater Croks will. Hell, even the spiders will kill you.

  2. He was not supposed to be that up close or personal. My prayers for his family,
    being in the water with those monsters takes nerves of steel.
    It would not hurt to have several soldiers with automatic weapons.
    Human life is more important that a sharks.

  3. I had never heard of the battle of Ramree Island in 1945 until now. Crocs 980, Japs 20 during that battle, the Japs never even had a chance. What a horrible way to die, not even Crocodile Dundee and Tarzan combined together could’ve helped the Japs survive that massacre by very large hungry crocodiles.

  4. Do they actually eat anyone? I mean normally. Like -chew, swallow, poop- eat someone.
    Seems like a lot of them sneak up on you, then ‘chomp chomp, wiggle- and move on.
    I mean, it sucks either way, but I was just wondering.
