I have. It was 3 months before 9/11. It was one hell of an impressive place. It was a company event and everything was top of the world, so to speak.

never ate there but flew by it 3 times a day going into LaGuardia Airport.
7
I’ve been to the top of WTC but that joint was too ritzy for me back then.
9
Indeed, I have. 1988 Senior Class trip to NYC. Had to pay our own way @ the WOW restaurant. It was our final night in NYC. First & last time I’ve ever had caviar!
9
I heard its to die for.

Nope. It’s been about 40 years since I’ve been in NYC. I’ve never had any desire or practical reason to go back.
Side note: I learned from a family member who has related dealings that NYC’s diamond merchants have left. All of them. They moved their businesses to Florida, mostly Miami.

I went to the rooftop in 1981, with my scout troop on the way to the National Jamboree.
We stayed at the Y, obviously didn’t go to that restaurant. Although, having said that, in 1979 our troop’s summer trip was to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Japan – and we did eat at Maxim’s in Hong Kong. 🙂 Had some very well-connected parents.

There was a rotating restaurant atop a high rise in Arlington that overlooks DC that es pretty cool. Ate there. I don’t know if it’s still there or not.
That was the 1970s.

Oregon Boy for 67 years, Sorry, no. I think Lake Geneganslet was about as close as I got, some 53 years ago.
4
last time I went to NYC was to a Yankee game their last year in The House That Ruth Built … my son & I made the pilgrimage in 2008 before they tore it down … the WTC was there then, but didn’t go then.
saw the WTC as a side-trip when I had to attend a training & licensing class in ’80 for Underground Tank Testing in Jersey … didn’t dine
5
I haven’t been to NYC since 1966. I haven’t even flown through it.
4
Drinks only, no dinner, in July 2001.
8
Nope, but I have eaten at the Signature Room in Chicago’s Hancock building 95th floor. It’s basically the same thing, right? lol
6
NEW YORK CITY???
My ancestors would come up out of the grave and git me if I ever ventured that far above the Mason Dixon before the war resumes and we’ve won this time!!! Although there ain’t much point anymore. We’re all subjects of the global elite now…
Wait! I thought we were talking about salsa or picante sauce or something..
8
No, but I got dizzy once while eating at Spurger Burger in Spurger, Texas.
2
I ate there September 10, 2001.
9
Yup, I’ve eaten there
3
I ate at the rotating restaurant at the top of the Holiday Inn in Sioux Falls in 1978. Do dat count?
6
I’ve never been that high and eaten.
4
This is great.
21 comments and no conspiratorial WTC-7 bullshit.
Well done, my fellow confederates…
BTW, never ate there but visited the top North? building in 1982.
Still have the brochure.
Loved the Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange King Kong of 1976.
First movie I ever watched that had an intermission.
Iconic buildings that evil goat-fuckers brought down.
Unbelievable that the powers that be at that time were more worried of backlash against those fucks.
It was at that moment I knew our country was dead.
5
Ate lunch there in 1976. That day we were above a NYC cloud cover and saw nothing but blue sky and the cloud layer out the window.
BTW, I wish Bush hadn’t knocked the WOW down.
5
The most upscale Waffle House in the whole chain!
2
Mr. Beachmom ate there in 1983 or 1984
We went up in the new Freedom Tower a couple of years ago.
Pretty cool.
The elevator has a time lapse video running on the walls showing the area from before anything was built on the site up to the new tower.
1
Ate and also just had drinks multiple times.
I never felt safe being that high.
4
I’ve been in spinning rooms but once I throw up it generally stops.
2
In Frisco there is a rotating bar on a hotel. Been there many times decades ago; forgot the name. Wonderful view of NoCal.
Crossed top of WTC over 40 years ago. You could see most of 4 states! Never ate there.
5
I never had the opportunity to eat at Windows on the World (though I had a HS classmate work there as a chef, who happened to have his day off on 9/11/01), but I visited the observation deck of 2WTC on a few occasions, including being able to go out on the roof deck on my first visit in the early 80’s.
4
No, but I wish I could have.
2
They (the twin towers) weren’t completed first and last time I was in nyc…
