European Blackout Update (yes, it was solar)
The critical tipping point came with the first generation loss at 12:32:57, involving roughly 2.2 GW, likely from solar PV generation in southwest Spain—a region dominated by solar power.

Shouldn’t it be called a power outage of color?

“Shouldn’t it be called a power outage of color?”
…it depends. Sometimes the Spanish, as distinct from other Spanish-speaking people are considered White Europeans, sometimes not.
It all depends on the hate needs of the day and which description serves the Communist narrative du jour…
SNS, if they are named Zimmerman, definitely white.
Solar panels have cut my PGE bill in half and are definitely worth it on a small scale.
Solar power, huh?
What’s going to happen if the UK lets Bill Gates spray their skies to dim the sun? It won’t just stay over the UK, will it?
Let them suffer the consequences of their stupidity.
^^^whats the investment payback?
whats the investment payback?
If yer lucky the break-even point is just before the solar cells reach EOL.
“Inertia deficient system”. All they need is a flywheel.
We got 1000’s of wind turbines in west and south west Texas now. Electric bill tripled in 2 years ! All that clean gas just out my back door….. We will all live in the dark soon….
When the incentives are gone green energy will cost more than the savings. Wind mill farms kill more protected bird species than not. Soon there will be no more exemptions and wind mill farms will have to pay for killing eagles and others. Solar is a little better but when your cheap Chinese electronics gives out and catches your roof on fire you have to wonder if you really saved anything. We have a solar far about 20 miles away that got blasted in a gigantic hail storm. 80 percent of the panels were damaged beyond repair. When I calculated the potential savings of solar, for me at my house won’t pay back for 11 years. Now the big thing is whole house batteries.
Charge them during the day and use the power overnight. This would be cost effective for us but I don’t want a couple of gigantic lithium batteries stuck on the outside of my home or in the garage.
You still have a bunch of cheap shit power inverters made in China powering your home. No thanks, I’m not going to save enough to install it. Others may have better financials but I can save more by turning off electronics when not in use.
^^^whats the investment payback? I don’t know if that’s directed at me but I went cheap. RV solar panels and portable battery. Figured it would take 5 years to payback but took less than three.
Never understood the hype behind the unreliable solar and wind electrical generation.
Neither are “green”.
Wind turbines require chemicals from crude oil to create, and require yearly oil changes – twice a year for colder climates – of around 80 gallons per turbine.
Wind turbines also kill birds (including bald eagles) and whales because the sound produced by the damn things sounds like food to birds and screws up a whale’s ability to navigate.
Not to mention solar taking sunlight away from nature’s ‘solar panels’ (plants) and wind turbines taking energy from the atmosphere, affecting weather patterns in unknowable ways.
The only thing they produce consistently is a constant supply of governmental money for those who make and sell these garish devices.

Our investment payback was 8 years.
Since I am in my late 70’s, I didn’t want to put an extra new roof on just for solar panels. Our electric co-op charges 10.3 cents per kilowatt hour. I just don’t see the payback for what little savings is gained. Everyone is a bit different but I still see the cost at a close by school whose roof caught fire and caused extensive damage due to a cheap Chinese inverter catching fire

11 years counting the new roof
If “blackout” is a no-no, how about Negrout?
As long as I’m being a racist, I have an idle question: Does the Chinese salesman say solal or sorar?
