  1. Shows how much of an impact it really had on society and civilization. Unlike classical and rock lasting as long as it has, I doubt much rap will be heard 50 years from now, even in commercials.

  2. I believe rap is dying because more and more people are realizing that instead of music, rap is poetry, and they say, “Dayum, Ah hates dat POE-tree shee-at. Dat ‘road less traveled’ is up yo nigga ass.”

  3. Agreed Uncle Al, from the 8 Mile soundtrack:
“Oh not these niggas again, grown-ass ignorant men with hair triggers again…”
    and
    “I got a GAT that’s bigger than Godzilla’s back nigga…”

    Hmm, seems rappers like guns n ho’s n money…

  4. A genre falsely propped up by an industry profiting off of blacks and
criminal culture – same people own the private prisons. Took me a long time to understand why this noise didn’t die a hard death behind disco… It’s always the money and blacks are easy fodder.

  5. It took a few years and a critical mass of dumb suburban white boys booming that shit out of their jeeps to finally make rap passé, but we’re almost there. Although lord only knows what dreck the young fools will foist on us next.

The first rap was blondie who I liked, then bs rap until the beastie boys, and the the mix of alternative rock and rap, Ice T OG and beastie boys iIlcomunication. all that other stuff sucks.Went to a concert about then and the headliners were Public Enemy and Sisters of Mercy, it was a weird crowd, there would be shootings if it happened now. Funny lyrics Beasty Boys: “If it’s going to be that kind of a party I’m going to stick my…..In somebody’s potato”
