The conversation about how divided we are here in the United States of America is a never ending one now. Twenty or thirty years ago, talk about “two Americas” was about economic status. Now it is about the great Red/Blue divide. It’s a bit much when people blather on about us being more divided than ever before, but that’s what you get when public schools stop teaching real American history.
A lot of participants in this conversation bring up the specter of a new civil war breaking out here in the Republic. I am not a big fan of throwing around “civil war” like that, but it is being used a lot. Most people don’t flesh out exactly what this civil war might look like. A violent civil war is far less likely than a divorce, an amicable separation where reason prevails over emotion, and we both decide we would be happier with the other out of the house.
Our values are antithetical to each other, we operate under divergent world views and moral underpinings, and we see the country in different ways, its history, its greatness (or lack thereof), even its very purpose.

Seems like every voter fleeing a democrat state still brings there leftist views , and votes to our states. I hope they stay home, and not come to my state and start voting for the same insanity.

If there is one true thing about life on earth, it is that the pendulum never stops swinging. It may seem like we’re stuck on eleventy with the Left’s communist insanity dominating our nation’s cities (is there one large city that is not ruled by Democrats? I don’t think there is.), but because the Left operates in a closed loop system, and it carries the seeds of its own destruction, it will eventually collapse. We’re witnessing this phenomenon in real time right now.
Prayers are needed for the recapture of our schools of education, which pump out a seemingly never-ending supply of useful idiots who are then placed over the impressionable minds and hearts of our children in public schools. Prayers are needed to send the demons flying from our social media and corporate media, so that we can recapture the voice of our Christian foundation. And prayers are needed to quash the anti-American messages coming from publishers and screenwriters and recapture an American wholesomeness and Godliness that informs and delights in our desire for happy endings, or at least something that gives us a moral satisfaction; not the chaos and mayhem of darkness and deception.
Each of these three areas affect the head of the snake that seeks our destruction, and they are at a national level. Once defeated, the individual locales will have no choice but to stand out as weird, strange, foul-tasting, undesirable fruit. The OBBB was a true God send at this time because of the federal dollars that are being shut off to the Left and their use of them.
I don’t see a civil war at all. Rather, a generational shift. And I mean a bigger one than just the typical one generation to the next type stuff. as much as I like to make fun of the Gen z type, I see hope for them. The biggest thing that impresses me about them is their lack of consumerism. Many of them that I watch seem to be less impressed with new and shiny, that’s a huge difference from boomers and x’ers. Some may see that as a lack of motivation but I do not.
We need to repeal the 17th Amendment that mandates popular election of US Senators……then we’ll be back to state legislatures appointment of US Senators……one (1) problem fixed.
We need to change the allocation of US Representatives to valid state voters……not by the census……that’s why we have sanctuary cities/states…..they’re trying to game the system and collect more Congress Representatives than entitled…..second (2) problem solved.
EVERY STATE IS PURPLE. Some are simply redder or bluer. NONE are 100% ANYTHING. This will be neighbor against neighbor if it comes to it.
An amicable separation is not possible. Even if we want one, the left cannot stand to let anyone live their life as they want to. The left MUST control you. They will push until violence happens. Converseley, The rest of the world will get a vote, if we try to create smaller Americas

Ed357 – not to point out historical facts, but the 17th easily passed because most states were already holding popular votes and rubber stamping them with their senate votes in the legislature. We have states now who support undermining the electoral college with the popular vote.

Spot on. And my thoughts are there will be no civil war. Their numbers are dwindling as “people of color” realize WTF. They’re side is left with Cheetos eating basement dwellers. I’m thinking maybe 20% of the population and dwindling. And push comes to shove they’re scared to death of us. No matter how many cats they own.

One thing nobody hit is population. With the slaves being sent home and the Lefties aborting their kids, demography is on the side of the Conservatives who seem to be pumping out 3, 4, 5 (more?) kids in a family.
It’s said Conservatives make up 40%, moderates the same, and the Lefties only 20%. The Left has nowhere to go but down.

Nice start with the 17th amendment; you need to include the 19th as well. The collapse of our country greatly accelerated after its ratification. Too, women need to be at home securing the homestead and educating their children while men work and provide for them. The failure to educate our children by foisting that responsibility onto the government has exacerbated this mess, as has the doubling of the labor pool (lowering the cost of labor) and the destruction of the nuclear family now in progress (refer to the black community, they were the test-run: preview of coming attractions for all communities).
