U.S. Department of Education Initiates Reduction in Force

US DOE (dot gov website): As part of the Department of Education’s final mission, the Department today initiated a reduction in force (RIF) impacting nearly 50% of the Department’s workforce. Impacted Department staff will be placed on administrative leave beginning Friday, March 21st.

“Today’s reduction in force reflects the Department of Education’s commitment to efficiency, accountability, and ensuring that resources are directed where they matter most: to students, parents, and teachers,” said Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. “I appreciate the work of the dedicated public servants and their contributions to the Department. This is a significant step toward restoring the greatness of the United States education system.”

The Department of Education will continue to deliver on all statutory programs that fall under the agency’s purview, including formula funding, student loans, Pell Grants, funding for special needs students, and competitive grantmaking.

All divisions within the Department are impacted by the reduction, with some divisions requiring significant reorganization to better serve students, parents, educators, and taxpayers.  more

SNIP: OK, look. I had to deal with some of these DoE bureauweenies recently, and let me tell you, they’re not as precious as they think. These douchepersons ruined it for themselves, and for the people who were actually doing their freaking jobs. (I didn’t run into any of them, but still. lol)

  1. Control of your child’s education should be at your school district level. Not the state level. Our educational system will not correct itself until parents force it to do so. And tenor needs to be ended. If you’re a libtard cat lady I don’t want you educating my kids. “It takes a village”. Yes but it has to be MY village.
