Baby born without a brain amazes doctors by celebrating his second birthday and says ‘Mummy’ for the first time – after his mother was told he would die within days.

Baby born without a brain celebrates his 2nd birthday and says 'Mummy' for the first time

Emma Murray, 24, from Lanarkshire, Scotland, said it seemed like a miracle when he son Aaron first spoke as he was born with only the tiniest part of a brain. Just minutes after giving birth in 2013, Emma was told by doctors that Aaron had a very rare health condition known as holoprosencephaly which they said left him ‘incompatible with life’. Born with only a brain stem and not a full brain (picture right shows – circled – the point Aaron’s brain stem stopped developing, the top of the brain is filled with fluid), Emma was advised to invite her closest family to the hospital to meet her newborn boy before he passed away. But more than two years on, Aaron is not only alive but enjoys giggling and clapping his hands with his big brother, Jack, aged three.

  1. Brad you’re not supposed to use the word too anymore because some dumbass feminazi broad says its sexist. Didn’t you know that, I saw it on the internet yesterday so it must be true. There’s way too much and too many idiots out there who willingly believe everything and every word is way too much of a microgression and we should agree with everything thing they say too, just because. So I’ll just end up saying there are way too many idiots outs there who are too hung up on the use of the word too. TOO! TOO! TOO!….
