Virginia’s Second Amendment Sanctuary Movement is Boosting Trump

Dan Bongino-

As Virginia’s Second Amendment Sanctuary movement continues to strengthen, it raises the question of it could translate to more support for President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Virginia has voted exclusively for Democrats since the 2008 election, and their current State government is controlled by entirely by Democrats (the Governorship plus their General Assembly). As their Assembly was set for both chambers to be Blue this month, strict gun control measures began being discussed in anticipation of full Democrat control. Governor Ralph Northam and his colleagues came out guns blazing (pun intended), calling for not only a ban on so-called “assault weapons,” but confiscation of everyone who currently possesses one.

Not coincidentally, Northam also wants to greatly expand the definition of an assault weapons so that pistols and shotguns are also banned in addition to weapons.  Even during the Clinton-era “assault weapons ban,” current owners had their firearms grandfathered in. It was only new purchases prohibited. Within just a month-and-a-half, 90% of the state’s counties (which contain 40% of the population) voted to become “Second Amendment Sanctuaries” and refuse to enforce all future gun control legislation.

They gained momentum in record time, and that enthusiasm could translate support for the anti-gun control presidential candidate this year – Donald Trump.

  1. 90% of the counties with 40% of the population tells you the problem right there. And the Dems want to get rid of the electoral college.

  2. @radio – bingo! If anything, states need their own Electrical Colleges (h/t Homer Simpson) to make sure they eliminate the Tyranny Of The Majority, aka Big Cities and Big Gummint Cheese Suburbs.

  4. Someone should put up the video of Donald and Melania Trump being introduced at the National Championship Game tonight. Deafening roar from the crowd.

  5. Tonight’s national college football championship game didn’t have a flyover, as it’s a domed stadium.

But President and Melania joined the presentation of the colors and the anthem. They brought the house down to raucous cheers and chants of USA.

And Joe Biden dropped his dentures into a bedside glass of Polident while nodding off to an episode of Green Acres. That Ebb is darned funnyZzzzzZzzz

Good night grandpa. Please don’t sniff my hair.

  6. Slightly OT: I’m encouraged that people who believe in America the Free are standing up to 2A opponents. I understand and HOPE that this movement swings in support of PRESIDENT Donald Trump. However, who the f**k wrote the subject article?

I was going to open the link to read it all, but poor writing really turns me off, as in these two examples:

calling for not only a ban on so-called “assault weapons,” but confiscation of everyone who currently possesses one.
So the VA legislature is calling for the “confiscation” of people who possess guns. It’s possible, eh, but probably not.

Northam also wants to greatly expand the definition of an assault weapons so that pistols and shotguns are also banned in addition to weapons.
Assault weapons, pistols, shotguns, and weapons are under consideration for being banned. To what ‘weapons’ are you referring?

The left already considers us bitter clingers to be a bunch of illiterate assholes. Let’s not give them fodder to potentiate their point.

  7. Trump has not uttered one word supporting Virginian Patriots. Short of holding one of his rallies in Richmond next Monday he better fucking say something. NOW.

  8. If an illegal criminal jumping across the border is legal, then our Constitutional right is legal.

    Protect guns, not criminals.
