WA lawmaker pushing statewide payroll tax to generate billions

Fox13:

OLYMPIA, Wash. – A Washington state lawmaker on Tuesday set the tone for the upcoming legislative session, making the case for a new tax on companies statewide.

Rep. Shaun Scott plans to sponsor a bill to impose a payroll tax on companies with high earners.

The backstory: The idea is similar to what Seattle has already imposed.

Scott’s statewide measure would set a 5% tax on salaries that exceed $125,000. Scott says it could generate billions every year that would be spent on affordable housing, education and health care.

Rep. Scott is serving his first time after being the first Democratic Socialist to be elected to the legislature. more h/t illustr8r

  1. democRATz Suck and THIS asshole is is the Grand Wazoo of Parasites!

Shaun Scott: a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America who wants to Suck the life out of Capitalism by Sucking the money out of successful businesses and convince the younger, ignorant generation that “YES!” (they always prey on the young ones) it is possible to still keep on living in Mama’s basement by robbing the wealth of accomplished people who actually contribute something to society!

  2. Rich Taylor – “wealth redistribution” is just the term they hide behind to justify stealing someone else’s money! They steal it like crazy and give the crumbs (as Bela Pelosi would say) to some just to keep the scam alive!

  3. These benighted economic REEEtards simply don’t have the brain power to conceive of a game that isn’t zero-sum and one they can’t rig. They need to be put out of our misery in an environment where they have the simple choice of (a) working their asses off, or (b) starving or freezing to death.
