The ecos are always going to protest. There will always be some of the local Indians who will protest. Anyone who hates either President Trump or Governor DeSantis (and that’s a lot) will protest. Those are inevitable; nothing to be done about them.
But we’re also seeing those who appear to be genuinely disturbed by the idea of plunking IA detainees down in the middle of a snake and gator infested impenetrable swamp so dense that no other measures are needed to prevent escape.
And that’s just not the case. Oh, that’s been hyped by FL people and by President Trump, and it makes for good PR and appeals to the base (it appeals to me!) but it’s hype.
The place is a rarely used airstrip with a 10,000′ runway built a long time ago to handle SSTs. That’s the story I’ve read about the origin anyway. All the concrete is still there and has been maintained because the place gets occasional use. “Training” they say. When it was created, the surrounding land was cleared and drained. Today, it isn’t wet and swampy, it is dry Florida scrub that surrounds the facility.
And here’s a very important point. The west end of the runway is 1.3 miles (as measured by Gargle Maps) from U.S. Route 41, a/k/a Alligator Alley, the main east-west highway through that part of the Everglades. Look for yourself. A half hour hike over dry, flat terrain. Gator or snake attacks very, very unlikely. The worst threat is mosquitoes. Gopher tortoises can get pretty big but their top speed is maybe 0.25 MPH.
What has sprung up there in a very short time are a bunch of high-tech air conditioned tents for housing, feeding, bathing, med treating, and administering. I think even the porta-potties have A/C but I’ll have to check.
A lot of people are protesting something that simply doesn’t exist. But if they step in the road and threaten me, I’ll run ’em over anyway if that’s what it takes to get away.

Jail, detention, or lockup, Is not meant to be a pleasant experience nor a convenient location for the detainee, but rather a place for enhanced disposition of the targeted law breaker.
If it also discourages protesters and other lookiloos, then wunderbar!
What could go wrong with Capt. Alley and his her gators on the staff?

If the Alligator Alcatraz gets full, I suggest building another penitentiary in Alaska’s Grizzly country. Even if one escapes, he will sooner or later become a Grizzlies’ lunch.
Call it the Grisly Highway.

Because DeSantis said that it’s permissible to run over protesters who block the roadway?

Yes, Heavy Foot.
In Florida, you can run them over. Simple solutions are the best, aren’t they?
7
Reminder: In FL, you can’t simply run them over if they’re in the road. You have to be threatened and need to escape to avoid serious injury or worse. THEN you can drive through/over the mob.

If they continue this crap it would be nice to have ICE show up at each end of the group along with the National Guard and Sheriffs Departments. From the highway they can not escape vey far into the brush and swamps. Locate all the ILLEGALS there and let them become the first visitors to Alligator Alcratraz. Any that want to obstruct arrest and Federally charge them so they will spend several years in prison. That should bring this crap to a halt real quick.

Hummm, anybody see a hostile nation flag?
They got both the memos.

Kcir – Yup. I posted the story a few days ago. She’s crying about the yearbook now. 😁

@MJA, @Rick — AOC (“La Retardada”) makes a very satisfying sound when she cries. I’d like to hear it more often.
Not related: has anyone picked up on Yorktown NY school yearbook Photo of AOC that proves she wasn’t from the Bronx?
By: Rep NY assemblyman Matt Slater
Florida Demwits too scared of sheriffs like this guy showing up, LOL!

Who’d a thunk it, if you enforce the law, people obey it. Just crazy how that works.
Kcir, here is more info on AOC’s real city of origin in NY. Visited by a conservative YouTuber;
