Women are propelling gun sales to all-time highs

“Defending your home and family has become (a) priority over past eight years or so,” King said.

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – FBI figures show the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is running more checks than ever before. Nearly 25 million background checks will have been completed by year’s end.

By proxy, that means more guns being sold than before and local shops say their sales are getting better every year.

A key group driving sales – women.

Women are helping propel firearm background checks and gun sales to an all-time high.

Steve King, owner of Metro Shooting Supply, says it’s astonishing how fast women are getting locked and loaded.

“If I could open a new store it would cater to women and self-defense and it has been growing the past five years,” he said.  more here

  1. I can vouch for that. And further more they’re training up. Unlike most of their male counter parts. News flash women don’t like pink guns. LOL.

  2. Well for the next four years gun grabbing by the government should be on the back burner.
I agree with Brad. You have to train with your gun at least once a month.
Run some ammo through it. Take it apart. Clean it. Get familiar with it.
    Carry it daily.
    And remember
“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”

  3. @B_B, hey now I used to have a hot pink Brooks AGrip on my Glock 21. It got filthy dirty so the H replaced it with a plain black AGrip. Don’t have any other gun bling though.

  4. Ya need to shoot and move. Move and shoot. But Euginia the “have a plan to kill everyone” is essential for a good tactical shooter. Sheep Dog stuff.

  5. Touché Mr. Bad
the bad guys aren’t going to stand still for you like a target at the range
pick an every day carry & develop mind/muscle memory
should also practice how to load/reload your gun/magazines and open your safe, in the dark
