Alabama VA hospital union president indicted for embezzlement

EAG News:

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Stephanie Hicks wrote lots of checks from her union accounts.  The problem is that they didn’t always go to cover union expenses.

Hicks, former president of American Federation of Government Employees Local 2207, was arrested and charged on March 11 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District Of Alabama with embezzling more than $132,000 in funds from the Birmingham-based union, which represents employees at the VA hospital in that city.

  1. Where I used to work, the local president did the same thing, for years, until he was caught. Indicted, convicted; it was kinda funny to see him at work wearing an ankle bracelet.

  2. yes, that’s how you make money in the usa today. you steal it. just like the politicians in dc and state offices. the bigger the budget the more you can steal. the more union dues collected the more can be stolen. the more people invested in the stock market the more can be stolen with automated trading.
most business regulation today under the guise of protecting the consumer are nothing more than taxpayer money give aways to big business or regulations used to force the small business man out of business, eliminating competition.
heck after punishment if given any, she will be right back at it working for the union or a government job and resume stealing once again.

  3. This is standard practice for Union leadership.

US Dept. of Labor and Justice brought this action?

She must have publically spoken out against immigration or obamacare.
