Book: Liberal news bias now infecting sports coverage

Wa Examiner:

News consumers upset with the liberal bias of the mainstream media have long turned to sports, considered too pure for politics or any bias other than hometown boosterism.

But just like the Walter Cronkite era, those days are kaput. And the host of radio’s “The Mighty Gwinn Show” on Yahoo Sports, Dylan Gwinn, is blowing the whistle in a new book titled Bias in the Booth.

It details a surge of liberal bias against conservatives in sports and he offered a reason for it to Secrets. “There is no real difference between mainstream media and sports media. They have the same background, go to the same schools, have the same pedigree, but instead of news went into sports,” Gwinn said.

  1. I used to enjoy ESPN radio… Got to hear lots of interesting stories there as well as sports. The Herd was great at first. Once I started listening to Cowherd regularly, I realized what a lib he is and got sick to death of his preaching. It was progtard lectures. Who needs that mixed into sports ? ! !!! Really made me sick. Stopped listening a 2 years ago.

  2. I used to love Monday Morning Quarterback with Peter King at SI. He started throwing out little liberal morsels that had nothing to do with what he was writing about so I quit reading it.

  3. Not only that but they’re starting to infest THE WALKING DEAD with gays kissing on screen and a former congresswoman shown to be a heroine! However, I suspect that soon Rick and his gang will find fault with them and ultimately blow them away.

  4. I no longer have anything to do with the NFL. Football used to be one of my passions. But Goodell has turned the NFL from a sports/entertainment league into an engine of social change.

I was a 49er fan. A fanatic. Now? I could care less. This last “Super” Bowl is proof. The Seattle Adderalls vs the New England Cheaters. They got what they wanted. The NFL can live with The Asterisk Bowl.

  5. Avid consumers of sports media are some of the biggest lofos out there when it comes to things that really matter. They can tell you all about Sharquavious Suggs ACL injury in his third year at Selma-Thurgood A & M, but they give you a blank stare when you mention Benghazi. The left has mastered the fine art of blending indoctrination into a silly diversion. Much like when I stick the dog’s medicine in peanut butter.
