This is your chance to get all your rain, wind and snow-hate out.
Let it all out, people. Maybe you’ll feel better. Not warmer, but better.
If you love snow, tell us about it. Ya weirdo. 😉
TWC: The NOHRSC analysis says that 66.4 percent of the Lower 48 was covered by snow or ice as of Sunday morning. That’s the highest coverage so far this winter season in the U.S.
Some of the deepest snowpack across the nation was in the northern Plains, Great Lakes snowbelts, northern Maine and the mountain West.
If you are wondering about Hawaii, yes, there was snow on ground there too. MORE
I guess were back to 50 before PE DJT is sworn in!
I’ll take snow over sleet and freezing rain any day.
What about the other seven states? Huh? They still have two more weeks to go. duh!
My driveway is almost 100 yards long. I bought a basic Craftsman 24″, 5HP snow blower 14 years ago. That is one of the best investments I have ever made.
10 degrees forecast tonight. Brrrrrr.
In 6 months we will be whining about the heat and humidity.
It’s gonna be 4 degrees here in southern NH
GloBULL warming!
Once upon a time I lived in the UP near Copper Harbor. 20ft of snow a year. Beautiful. Loved it. Would go back.
we need to start a movement …. hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers …‘Bring Back Global Warming!’
listen boys & girls … when the temperature is warm, like when the Luddites & Gubmint declare CO2 a ‘greenhouse gas’, life thrives … that’s what we call ‘a good thing’
when the temperature goes down, life dies … not ‘a good thing’
Driving: No problem. Have a Rubicon.
Work: I unload Propane Railcars. Boo Coo overtime!
Texas. Single digits and snow/sleet on Saturday, and 70+ on Tuesday.
Thankfully, 70 by Thursday.
I didn’t move 800 miles south to still have to deal with this cold shit.
We average 10 feet a year here. Moved up from LI over 45 years ago and getting mighty tired of the white stuff. And the drifts in front of the house are brutal. After one blizzard I had to start shoveling over my head and I was a foot off the ground on the porch when I started. Retiring will help as I won’t have to drive in it nearly so much.
Lol, A bunch of you folks should move to Cali and we’ll revolt and vote the evil bastards out.
Where’s my global warming?
I think I’ve done more than my fair share to promote it.
We are having a heat wave here in Minnesota. Going to only get down to 9 degrees tonight! Gotta get my sandals out for work tomorrow!
I confess I like snow, but not feeling it this weekend. Fiery, sore throat, horrendous headache and URI that comes only in winter.
Sometimes I say screw this shit, I’m moving to Florida.
I would be miserable if I lived in Hawaii, Florida and California. Four seasons keep me sane. Fall and particularly, Winter are my favorite seasons.
Moved from Maine to Arizona 5+ years ago. Don’t miss it – shoveling, driving, shivering are things of my past. Best decision ever!
Although I now shiver when it’s 50 degrees. My blood has assumed Arizona viscosity.
99th, OK brother what state do you live in? I’ve always pictured you as a Colorado Cowboy.
First snow of the year near the Chesapeake Bay, 8″ yesterday. balmy 18 outside. Half mile driveway, just drove up and down until it all went flat, that’s plowing here. I would consider it a blessing if palm trees would last all year. Bring it on!
@99th, About 15+ years ago I was researching a hearty pasture grass for our horses. Found it and contacted the salesman in FL.
The hybrid grass was advertised at being drought resistant and hearty between 17 & 103 degrees. I asked the salesman, “how do you think it would do in a wider margin of extremes?” He asks, “like what?” I said, “110/113 degrees to -10 degrees.” No kidding, he asks, “holy crap, where do you live?” I said, “California,” to which he replied (literally), “Bull S…” I gave him my shipping address and he still couldn’t believe it. -9 just a few days ago….
CA is a beautiful and diverse state. It’s not just beaches and bikinis. The only problem is… it’s located in California.
The last time I saw forty degrees was in the beer cooler
at the gas station……
The last time I saw snow or ice was 2004. I like my island
at 13 north. 🙂
I hate every season, every place, except the desert in springtime.
If I can find a desert that only deals in springyness, I’m golden.
Holy Crap MJA’s drinking. Again.
Bad_Brad, a Colorado cowboy would not be far off if I could live another lifetime. Alas, I’m originally a Ilinoisan who tranplanted to North Carolina 32 yrs ago.
NC is beautiful – beaches, mountains and everything in between. Just wish it snowed and was colder a little more often in the winter.
People who love all things summer, good for you. A year long summer would give me nightmares. To each his own.
@BigGun, yes, I know California has a variety of environments and weather patterns, but the overwhelming leftist vibe is maddening. You’re a brave soul. Great story, btw.
So which state didn’t get snow??? I don’t see the answer. Florida?
Eastern NC has plenty of snow and wish I had settled there years ago.
Western NC. I should just go to bed.
I live in SLC, UT. The only reason I like winter and snow is that it collects in the mountains and give us water for summer. My ideal winter weather is “valley rain and mountain snow”. Unfortunately, most of the time we get snow in the valley as well as the mountains. Oh, well.
I’m going snowmobiling for the next few days, I’ve been cheering on a storm system that should hit Northern Wisco this afternoon. I’m leaving in 3 hours!
On Thursday it was 9 degrees and snow-covered here in S. OR. I don’t think the palm trees at the In-N-Out Burger are going to survive. Single digits and snow are rare here.
DC just got its first snow (Saturday morning, and over by 2 pm). Only an inch of dry fluffy flakes, but enough to turn the city into a ghost town. Deserted roads, little traffic, and few pedestrians.
Yesterday was 19′ with steady 20 mph winds.
Too far out to forecast, but if it’s really cold here Jan 20 I expect the planned inauguration protests will fizzle.
Snowflakes are easily discouraged.
I’ve had my fill of snow for the Winter, I just got back from a very long day of work in NW Montana. It took me at least 2-3 extra hrs. because of all the snow, nothing like driving 40-45mph most of the day but Lookout Pass between Montana and Idaho was clear, woo hoo!
