I’m going to do this!
FOX19 –The American Heart Association is seeking volunteers to help knit or crochet red hats for babies born during the month of February.
The “Little Hats, Big Hearts” campaign is a partnership with the Children’s Heart Foundation to celebrate American Heart Month.
“Supporters are knitting and crocheting red hats to be given out to thousands of babies during American Heart Month in order to empower moms to live heart healthy lives and to help their children do the same,” the website reads.
Here’s how you can get involved

Just buy a bunch of those pussy hats and cut them in half.
Your welcome.
I wish I knew how to knit or crochet–I spent many years working in the NICU/nursery and these kind of things are so special to the Moms. A little bit of kindness is a good thing–really. Just as a side note, when I worked in the NICU, there was no such thing as preemie clothes so we would buy Cabbage Patch doll clothes to put on them!
So precious.
That picture is ADORABLE.
I love babies and small children. From a distance. I am so glad that I don’t have to take care of little people anymore! But I love to see my neighbors out and about with theirs.
Becoming a grandma was a wonderful awakening, I got to spoil the child (she’s now sixteen) and I didn’t have to chase her around, saying ‘no, no’. LOL
Go for it MJA. I am confused by the knit preemie hat pdf. I don’t see a suggested knitting needle size. Gauge is there but no needle size. Did I miss it?
Can the hat have printing on it?

Eugenia, I see what you mean.

Thanks MJA!
