15 Miles of New Border Walls Slated for Construction in Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials announced contract awards for four new border wall segments in Starr County, Texas.

CBP officials reported the new border wall systems to be constructed in the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV), the nation’s busiest in terms of human and drug smuggling, which includes new 30-foot steel bollard wall, all-weather roads, lighting, enforcement cameras, and other border security technology. The construction is slated to begin later this year.

Officials said the new walls are to be constructed in locations where no physical barriers currently exist. These will be new walls, officials stated. read more

  1. Fifteen miles along the most heavily trafficked route will cause the illegals to walk a long way around to more difficult places that don’t have such a beaten path. It’s not perfect, but one step at a time.
