22 Arrested, Facing Federal Charges After Weekend Protest at Federal Courthouse in Portland

USDJ| District of Oregon:
Charges include assaulting federal officers, failing to obey lawful orders, and operating a drone in restricted airspace.

PORTLAND, Ore.—U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams announced today that 22 people have been arrested and are facing federal charges for their roles in weekend protests at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in Portland.

According to court documents, since May 26, 2020, protests in downtown Portland have been followed by nightly criminal activity including assaults on law enforcement officers, destruction of property, looting, arson, and vandalism. The Hatfield Federal Courthouse has been a nightly target of vandalism during evening protests and riots, sustaining extensive damage.

U.S. Marshals Service deputies and officers from the Federal Protective Service, Homeland Security Investigations, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection working to protect the courthouse have been subjected to nightly threats and assaults from demonstrators while performing their duties.

Six people have been charged for alleged criminal conduct during a protest beginning July 23, 2020 and continuing into the early morning hours of July 24, 2020. Carly Anne Ballard, 34, and David Michael Bouchard, 36, are charged with assaulting federal officers; and Josslynn Kreutz, 28, Dakota Eastman, 30, Ezra Meyers, 18, and Mark Rolycanov, 28, are charged with failing to obey lawful orders.

On July 24, 2020, agents from Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested Ronald Bernard Hickey, 44, a Canadian National, for harassing and stalking federal employees assigned to assist the Federal Protective Service with ongoing civil unrest in Portland. 1. I might be in total a hole mode. But I would prefer to hear 22 shot dead and the rest decided that being Antifa was not a great idea. Mommy’s basement is more to their liking. Doritos and chicken fingers.

You know. What 14 year olds like.

I am so done with the professional Tantrumists.

  2. They should be held in cells where, outside their reach, hang larger-than-life, gloriously colorful photographs of a grinning President Donald J. Trump staring right at the camera lens.

With any luck, they’ll commit suicide before costing us taxpayers much money.

  3. Here is the reason for my malcontent.
I ducked out of work early due to technological stupidity that I won’t bore you with.
I figured I would drop into a barbershop for a trim on the way home. Door was locked. Nobody inside. Mind you it’s a black owned barbershop. They do a nice job.

But on the sidewalk outside were not just one, but an art gallery of Black Lives Matter messages.

They were not in children’s handwriting.

That’s fine. I will not be returning.

    Bye.

  4. PHenry, out for a jog today I passed a house that had a Black Lives Matter sign in the front yard – right next to the road. I looked behind me to see if there was anyone around and then as I ran past just pulled it up and flung it. It was just then I saw a couple walking toward me down the street about a hundred feet. And they’d seen what I did. But they both gave me two big thumbs up and smiled as I jogged past them!

  5. Quite frankly, I don’t have a racist bone in my body.
Why did barack obama start this race war? I didn’t start it. Donald John Trump didn’t start it.

    It breaks my heart.

  6. Hmmmm. Those all sound like white kid’s names.

I just looked up Bouchard. At age 37, he’s the chair of the Finance Committee for an environmental justice org called OPAL, in Oregon. If he’s jailed, he’s going to get up close and personal with a whole different environment, for sure.

PORTLAND, Ore. – The fence put up around the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in Portland is blocking a bike lane, and the city’s transportation department is fining the federal government “$500 for every 15 minutes” it blocks the public thoroughfare.

“As of yesterday, the federal government owes us $192,000 and counting,” said Commissioner Chloe Eudaly, who oversees the Portland Bureau of Transportation.

That is pretty easy to respond to – 1) Cut off all access to federal transportation grant funding 2) Audit every dollar they have received in the last decade for strict adherence to every damn thing

  8. Another one that soon will be going to the big house. I almost feel sorry for him as it’s obvious why he’s the way he is, he has a leftist Grandma who is ignorant so I’m sure if his mother didn’t drop him off for his Grandma to raise is just as stupid. Good thing though Grandma is so stupid that she made it easy for him to be identified by leaving a review complete with his picture in it.

  9. Kevin R, I hope he gets enough time that she will never live long enough to see him out of prison. The only thing better would to see her thrown in prison for aiding and abetting.
It’s too damn bad all of those dope heads burning their bras weren’t killed off or sterilized back in the day. Society would be a lot better off today if they did.

  10. I find it amazing that anyone here thinks for one second that these arrests will lead to anything happening to the perps….Oregon federal D.A. will have to follow through and to date no ofishal from Oregon has done their stinking job.

I would imagine that once the liberal D.A. goes before a liberal activist judge the results will be charges brought against the officers who arrested these terrorists.

I still say the best way to deal with these scumbags is to strip them of their citizenship and then immediately deport them to mexico with the very clear understanding that if they ever set foot inside CONUS again it will be a death sentence.
