23,000 California DMV voter-registration fails, and we’re not supposed to worry about illegals voting

American Thinker:

In an issue the press suggests we shouldn’t be too concerned about, the California Department of Motor Vehicles says it’s screwed up 23,000 voter registrations based on its stewardship of the state’s automatic voting registration system, known as its motor-voter law.

According to the Los Angeles Times:

Tens of thousands of Californians have been registered to vote incorrectly by the state Department of Motor Vehicles, including some who were assigned the wrong political party preference, officials said Wednesday.

Officials insist the errors were limited to 23,000 of the 1.4 million voter registration files sent to elections offices between late April, when California’s new automated “motor voter” system went into effect, and early August.  Californians who were affected will soon receive notifications in the mail instructing them to check their voter registration status.

Hey, we know what your first question was, and both the DMV and the press assure that none of them was an illegal.  They aren’t too sure what happened, which is why they are telling everyone to check his own registration, but they are…sure there were no illegals.   read more

  1. Extending voter registration to be indoctrinated and validated by any DMV has only been failed from the get-go. Typically it only exists in Democratically controlled states, just as allowing Non-ID and felon voting. If I can’t buy smokes, beer, see a movie, enter a bar, without an ID, you do not have to right to vote. Is it that hard,,, not for democrats making the laws so that they line their pockets and life long pensions at the “constituents” expense. The public ATM (add any kind of definition to that acronym you want). Still a big swamp, hopefully in the near future we can get it down to the streams and creeks feeding them.

  2. Just heard a story on SRN news about a study that concluded the best way to ensure voter reliability is to return to paper ballots for all federal elections. I agree and would add that election day should be the only day votes can be cast, with the exception of military folks.

  3. We not only need to go back to paper ballots, we should be given a receipt so we can go on line and make sure the democrats did not change our votes. Another thing: The voter roles should be publicly displayed, without party affiliation, so we can see if one bedroom house next door has 40 voters registered to that address, or previous owner, who died, is not still registered.
