4 University of Idaho students found dead in apparent off-campus homicide

JTN– Four University of Idaho students have died in what police believe to be a homicide, officials said.

The bodies of the students were discovered Sunday evening, in the town of Moscow. But the names of the victims had yet to be released as of early Monday afternoon.

“The Moscow Police Department is investigating and the families of these students have been notified. MPD does not believe there is an active threat,” the school said in an email to students.

The students were apparently killed the same night threeUniversity of Virginia students were fatally and two others were wounded. The suspect in that shooting was taken into custody Monday morning.

  1. I dug for some more reporting on this. There was another piece from (I think) the Spokane newspaper, giving the names of the deceased, and stating that UofI had lifted the “shelter in place” warning soon in the investigation, based on what investigators had found so far. This leads me to believe that it was a homocide/suicide, because there is no known at large perpetrator. My guess it was the only male among the four who killed the women. Just a guess.

My late in-laws met while at UofI before he was called up for WWII. He was the head of his fraternity there as well as ROTC. My FIL was a Major in the Army and landed at Omaha beach in the first wave, then went on to fight in the remaining skirmishes on their way to Berlin. He brought back a number of Nazi artefacts. He returned to UofI to finish his degree in chemical engineering, then moved his family to Seattle.

Moscow, ID, of all places. This is awful.
