  1. The NFL teams did a reenactment last night. When they locked arms on the field before the game, it was just as if they were cheering the planes flying into the buildings. They were literally rioting and looting the fans in the stadium.

    The NFL is disgusting!

  2. 9/11- when many children were rudely and loudly exposed to the cold and cruel reality of modern warfair and death.

Myself included at just 8 years old.

My parents sat in front of the TV and began to weep, I felt cold dread settle in my stomach and this was before the second plane hit.

Any person old enough to remember should shun the rise of Islam. Forgiveness is one thing, but forgetting is something that we should NEVER do.

  3. Two events in my life that I remember where I was when it happened, one I will never ever forget. I despise Islum with every fiber of my body.

Going to a tribute celebration tonight on the square. SEAL Team Six member, Rob O’Neal, will give a presentation, Darryl Worley will be there as well, along with some other bands. Looking forward to NEVER FORGETTING.

  4. RIP Keith McHeffey. His mother was the department secretary for my wife when she worked at Monmouth U in NJ. Sherry also attended our wedding in 1996. He died with so many others at Cantor Fitzgerald that day. We will never forget their names.

  5. My son was 3 when the towers fell, but its still one of his earliest and strongest memories. He didn’t understand a lot of what was going on, obviously, but he knew that Momma was scared and always watching bad things happening on TV, that Daddy was angry and was home a lot less right after, and that bad men had done bad things to a lot of people and we had to fight back.

It did a lot, the filtered exposure he had that day, to shape him into the man he is today. I taught him what I could at the time, and showed him many things that I’ve had on video and told him many things that were in my heart about that day as he grew and became able to understand more. I did what I could to try to help him know what he was living through, that there IS evil in this world but there is also good to counter it.

And I did help refresh his memory every year around this time for his edification and understanding of this present evil.

    Lest he forget.

But he was affected by it, whether I spoke to him as well, and he did immediately understand the fear on an atavastic level, and it did help to mould and shape him even today.

As I suppose Pearl Harbor did to that generation’s toddlers.

Daddy was indeed upset. I had lost 343 brothers that day on the NYFD, and that was not even counting the other responder’s deaths, such as NYPD, PAPD, even the military, as well as thousands of civilian deaths. Daddy was only a few years separated from his service then, but was working for a military contractor that was just kinda in low idle when the planes hit, but that changed instantly that day as well.

Because it was clear from the second plane that we were at war.

And we supplied the military for war.

Our management did not even wait for the Pentagon. They started planning for wartime footing that day, cancelled vacations, ordering materials, purchasing equipment, telling people what they already knew from being transfixed on the television screens in the break room that kept showing the most hideous acts of cowardace and mass murder ever perpetrated on a free people to that point, and no one was upset that they were going to have to work more because we were working to avenge THAT. We were going to make things on spec if necessary, without a contract, because it was clear our warfighters were going to be heavily engaged very soon. Our Guardsmen who were working there figured they would be recalled to their units and started to plan accordingly.

    For this was war.

Even without knowing the nation we would be fighting at the time, we knew this was war.

Stepping back a bit, however, I also recall how confused and conflicted the media was that morning. I had a pager then, that was state-of-the-art comms at the time, and it had this four line text display on it that the particular service we had at the time would sometimes send news feeds for, with very basic descriptions of the time. I remember, shortly after 0900, I was walking to break and perusing these news clippings when the report came across: “SMALL PLANE HITS WORLD TRADE CENTER, INJURIES FEARED”.

    Just that.

Apparently the scale was not known and the towers were so huge that the perspective on the plane that hit the North tower was not immediately apparent to whoever made that report. The severity of damage to the tower was not immediately apparent from the ground either, but if you looked at it on the soon-to-be 24 hour news coverage, you could see that the smoke alone suggested a very heavy fire load, that multiple floors were involved, and when they started gettig a ground game you could see the destruction all the way down in the lobby just from what came down the elevator shafts.

But even once that came across, well, could be an accident, a B-29 had hit the Empire State building once, crap happens, put out the fire and we’ll get the black boxes and figure it out later.

    Then the SECOND plane hit.

And it wasn’t an accident any more.

I don’t need to go through the whole timeline of that terrible day, the incredibly callous acts of violence against people who had nothing to do with the hatreds of the extremists who murdered them, the acts of bravery on the part of the passengers that tried to retake United Airlines Flight 93 with “Let’s Roll” passing into the American lexicon for an immediate response to evil, the incredible bravery of those firemen who were captures on still shots going up the stairs while civilians were streaming down them to what we now know was their deaths, the individual acts of heorism that were many and even the capricousness of some happenings like the chaplain who was killed by a falling body from the Tower while he was aiding another stricken person on the ground, because you all know that already.

    I hope.

And that is what I do want to speak to as we memorialize this, the 19th year since that awful and glorious day, that day so filled with tragedy and triumph, where abominable acts were done and heroes stepped up to counter it from all walks of life, that we do NOT forget what happened that day because it resonates even to THIS one, and it is the doom of men that they forget.

    They forget.

They forget that Islam does not accept that which is not Islam, and still wants to destroy all that is not Islam by any means necessary.

    That has not changed.

They forget that Democrats then, as Democrats now, wished to minimize the threats that this Nation faced, that were obvious long before that great and terrible day, because they were upset that they had lost some measure of their power when they lost the 2000 election, and that they fixiated on destroying a Presidency over protecting a Nation.

    That, too, has not changed.

They forget the lessons of the past, even from Pearl Harbor to the WTC to today, that there really IS no such thing as a sneak attack, that we KNEW we had enemies at war with US, we just chose not to deal with it, feeling a false security in our imagined strength, a huibris that no one would DARE attack us, that there was no guarentee of their worldview that America always was and ever shall be with no effort on their part, that some Government somewhere would take care of these issues so we could all concentrate instead on getting drunk and high and stupid and rather than worry about the world that hates us, hate the Nation that protected us because it was racist, sexist, homophobic, whatever, and completely ignore the fact that that wider world that wants to destroy this Nation would cheefully go on to kill people for their race, sexually enslave its females, and throw its homosexuals off whatever tall buildings remained if we did not man the walls effectively enough.

    Neither has THAT changed.

We still had some resiliance then. This Nation, however temporarily, was able to rally ’round the flag, unite behind our Military and our President, and push on to forcefully reply to our attackers. We were even able to stiffen the spine of our weak and vallicating President at the time enought to act like a President executing the will of his people as he should, because the will of the people was made manifest by the flags flown at every residence and the speeches given at every town hall and the man on the street interviews by every news service and the inudation of even Democrat representatives that were deluged with calls to return this foul act onto its perpetrators sevenfold.

    But that was then.

Who knew we would choose a Muslim for President a scant 7 years later?

    Because we forgot.

Who knew we would evicerate our military at his command and turn to importing the very enemy that tried to destroy us at his word?

    Becasue we forgot.

Who knew that those police heroes who ran in with even less protection than those firefighters on that awesome and terrible day, those knights in blue who rode to the rescue even into the flaming Valley of Death with debris falling from the very sky would be objects of scorn and derision today, to have abuse and violence heaped upon them with impunity over imaginary issues imputed to them from very limited incidents thousands of miles away involving individuals engaged in criminal acts in every case, to serve a party that did NOT peacefully transfer power after an election and has not done so to this day?

    Because we forgot.

As I write this on September 11th, 2020, around 0700, on a morning almost as gorgeous as we started that awful day with, it occurs to me that we have adults who can vote in THIS election that were not even BORN at that time.

Think you on that. 18 year olds that don’t even know 9/11/01 as a memory, they know only what their parents have told them, what their schools have told them, what the media has told them, and whatever they find on the Internet if they ever even look.

    And that is not encouraging.

I found that a school that I subsequently removed my son from some years ago was not even teaching WWII, no time because of the unit on African history.

World War II, because it’s hard to cast America in a bad light in this one.

A defining war for this nation.

    Skipped entirely.

If they can skip over THAT, then what’s a couple of big buildings in one city and one wall of an office building in another one to them?

What’s a few thousand lives, a handful of airplanes, and some smashed fire trucks to them?

It isn’t the story they want to tell.

So they move on to talk about the imaginary crimes of a sitting President because undermining him is more important to them than protecting this Nation from those same forces that still want to destroy us.

    Becuase we forget.

Satan really isn’t very creative. God did not give him that power, nor was he able to steal it. He just keeps drawing from the same bag of tricks over and over and over again. The older generation gets wise to him, usually at great personal cost, and then his tricks don’t work any more on them.

So he turns to the younger generation.

And we have allowed his minions, the Democrats, to poison the children against their elders so they can’t listen to their voices or learn from their expericences. His minions, the Democrats, have pulled one of his oldest tricks out to divide them from those who could tell them what he’s up to, to whisper to them of the racisim, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia of their elders, to tell them that THEY know better, that their elders are just fools in the way, that THEY, the younger generation, can reject the repressive God of old as a chimera used to bound their soaring ambitions and to keep them from their right of running the world for the betterment of all.

That they shall surely NOT die.

And they heed him. Now, the current year, even this day when we still try to acknowledge a present evil that they think was, at worst, a passing one, that they know better than we, as they are deceived by the poison dripped into their ears by the great deceiver through his minons in the Democrat press and the Democrat schools.

And now we have buildings that are burned and sacrificed on a daily basis to the same Mammon that toppled those towers almost two decades ago, but this time by the misguided children of this very nation.

And we stand to lose this best of all possible Nations in just a few months to the same forces that enables those terrorst on that day not so long ago, but a generation ago, that seems almost in a different era that is almost quaint in its patriotism.

    And why?

    Because we forget.

  6. …you NEED to watch the movie this links to. You’re literally with the first-in firefighter from when they see the first plane fly overhead to inside the North tower, setting up IC, stating interior attack, hearing the South tower get hit from the IC post in the North, hearing jumpers hit, evacuation, all the way to collapse.

    It’s worth your time.

Show your children, if they’re mature enough. It doesn’t pull any punches.

    Watch it if you can.

    Lest we forget.

…I appreciate the complement, but nothing from the heart is rank. I feel the emotion you put in yours as I can only hope others feel the emotion I put in mine. I enjoy your posts, and am honored to have your voice alongside mine.

So say on my friend. Keep the memory alive. All we can do, we must.

    ALL of us.

I hope every poster shares their memories of that awesome and awful day, because everyone has their own take and their own voice.

    And we need them all.

    Lest we forget.

  8. # 2 son’s birthday today.

The night before it happened, when I told him goodnight at bed time, I told him the whole world will celebrate his birthday in the morning.

    Sometimes I am really wrong.

  9. @SNS –

For the sake of expediency (and little bit of laziness) I kept my post brief. But I have vivid memories of watching that whole morning unfurl.

I was at work when one of my co-workers (who spent more time on the internet than he was supposed to) called out to everybody, Holy shit, you gotta see this!”

The image on the screen was that of smoke pouring out of the building. Footage of the first the first plane had not yet surfaced and the reporters, as well as all of us watching assumed that it was an accident.

We were transfixed on the computer screen watching and wondering what, how, and why had this happened, when BOOM the second plane hit and all of those questions were answered.

We remained glued to the screen for what seemed like hours watching replays from all different angles, listening to the commentary as the revelation of had just happened and what was happening became clearer.

I remember watching the towers rock back and forth, never thinking that the unthinkable could happen. When it did, it all seemed and looked so surreal, like a Hollywood special effects movie. But it wasn’t. First the south tower, then unbelievably, the north tower too.

Little to nothing was accomplished that day at work. The events were too disturbing and captivating.

I will never forget that day, or what it opened my eyes to.

@SNS – I haven’t watched the link you posted yet, but I researched and saw a LOT of first hand on the scene, in the building video coverage of that morning. I heard the bodies hitting the lobby ceiling. I saw the massive amount of smoke and debris that rolled over the city streets, like the shadow of death scene fro The Ten Commandments”, enveloping all in its path.

I remember seeing a video entitled “Falling Man”, I think was the name, which documented all of the people that jumped out of the buildings. Yes, that day is vividly etched in my mind.

  10. Dadof4, I’m so sorry for you and #2. These people who were children when this happened will carry the scars their whole lives. And the birthday children have suffered a different kind of wound.

My nephew’s birthday is today, also, and I know how hard he tries to not let it mar his special day nineteen years later.

I will add your son for special prayers today along with my nephew.

…and 1000 TUs to you, as well.

…That’s what we should be doing, sharing all our memories of this singular event that shapes us as people, and as a Nation, so we can all see from each other’s unique perspective and experiences this same, world- changing event through as many eyes as possible, as @chuffed-beyond-words did from the perspective of a 8 year old girl, as @mcfartus spontaneous did in sharing their personal connection (as in previous years), and as you have done now.

It matters not how you write, although you write well when you push into it, but if you write from the Spirit, others will understand you in like kind and it will be beautiful regardless.

It’s not my blog, but I suspect out kind host would not mind if we memorialize this day in this way.

BFH and company have been very kind about my ramblings, as expediency and brevity have never been my long suits,as you may have noticed.

But I would personally like to hear from everyone in like kind.

    Probably never happen.

Just would help us to lift each other up, to know we are not alone in our feelings of this day of true infamy, and just as true heroism.

    God Bless,

  12. When I was scoring student essays, we had one project that had the students write about the most memorable news event of their life. This was for an 4th grade class and nearly 70% of the responses were about 9/11. These children were in 1st grade at the time.

I was struck by how many of the children were still so traumatized by the event three years later. One thing many children believed that day was that they were going to die. They thought that planes would fly to their city and bomb them.

As they watched TV that awful day, they saw the planes fly into building after building. They saw people dying and building after building falling. They knew that they were next. These bad men were coming for them.

It broke my heart that these children had no adult there to explain that what they were seeing was the news showing the same thing over and over and that it wasn’t happening live anymore. They were not crashing more planes into more buildings, but only two were hit.

Along with all the fears that the evil that caused this to happen made us all fear more plans of theirs on that day. But the children with no one to talk to them about what was happening just broke my heart. I worked on that project for two weeks and every paper I read about 9/11, I said a prayer before I went on to the next paper. And I cried many times along with the other readers. That was a somber project that, I’m sure, we all remember sadly.

    12
  13. I can’t watch that footage anymore because I sob like a child during and afterward every time I see it. Then the rage builds up to the point where I need to scream in anger. Damn them all to hell.

    “Damn them all to hell.”

Agreed, but I can’t do it, nor can you.

God Himself doesn’t even damn them to hell.

They dammed THEMSELVES, by their own beliefs and actions.

You can be confident that, whatever they THOUGHT they were doing, that they will not escape true Justice in the end.

    None of them.

Not they, and not even their spiteful Democrat supporters.

They cannot escape the fate they’ve condemned THEMSELVES to in the end…

“45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
    Matthew 25:45-46

I struggle with anger too, but it is mostly useless and only separates me from God, do I pray on it daily. Anger is corrosive, it eats the vessel it is stored in.

But I have no avenue to pour it out on those most deserving.

So all I can do, for now, is pray and wait upon the Lord.

And that’s the best I can recommend for you as well.

Be sure that vengeance us coming.

They will get away with nothing.

And we may all have a part appointed by God to play in it,by and by, in His time.

Until then, pray, and lift each other up, in the Lord, here and everywhere.

    It’s all we really have…

  15. Islam is poison to EVERYTHING it touches.
I defy anyone to name a single positive aspect of the death cult.
And we have politicians falling all over themselves to bring more of them here.
    Why?

  17. I’ve always wondered if those terrorists got the idea to fly those planes into the building from that movie The Matrix. There is a scene in the movie where a helicopter crashes into a building. That movie was made in the 90’s. What a terrible, awful day in our country. Never forget the innocent people who were murdered. May God comfort the families and friends of the victims.

  18. Mecca should have been a smoking pile of rubble on 9/12/2001. By xmas 2001, we would have been back to normal.

Instead, we have been sliding town the slippery slope of a ‘new normal’, trading bits of freedom here/there for an illusion of security.

And now I have to wear a burka to go grocery shopping.

“I’ve always wondered if those terrorists got the idea to fly those planes into the building from that movie The Matrix.”

…the Stephen King story, “The Running Man” (the original story he wrote under the pen name “Richard Bachmann” in 1982, NOT the movie) ends with the antihero hijacking a plane and flying it into the evil Games commissions’ tower in Harding to kill the high level executives, so as ideas go, that came first.

But ultimately, satan gave them the idea, and they ran with it.

    Because that’s what evil does.

    It’s easy to destroy.

    But damned hard to create.

Because destruction is of the devil, and creation from the Lord.

…and look at the center of any Democrat city to see who the destroyers serve, then…and now…

  20. For those who read the 1994 Tom Clancy novel, “Debt of Honor” you’ll remember that the ending was almost identical to the 9/11 plot. The story was continued with his next novel “Executive Orders”. Both were captivating reads.

  21. I do remember that for the remainder of the day my parents didn’t let any of us go outside and that my dad went out to check the skyline every few minutes for the next 5 or so hours.

It was ridiculously unsettling. We were all crowded around the TV and my mom kept whispering prayers and my dad looked so… frustrated. Shocked I guess? I had never seen him like it.

I just don’t understand how any person could say that America deserved it- leftists make me sick.

    …he wanted to kill them.

    Every one of them.

    Most men did.

    …I know I wanted to…

…but because of circumstances, most of us could not.

    Hence the frustration…
