Chicago experienced another violent Fourth of July weekend, with 6 people killed and at least 50 people shot between July 3 and July 6.
According to ABC7 Chicago, the shootings were scattered across multiple neighborhoods. Among the incidents was a fatal shooting on the North Side early Saturday morning, where a 46-year-old man was shot in the back while sitting inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the shooter fled, and one person of interest is currently in custody.
Later that same morning, a 30-year-old man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head on the West Side. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and no arrests have been made as detectives continue to investigate. more

JDHasty I showed Hey Jackass to my social worker coworker in the name of sociology and demographics. She was initially appalled by its apparent callousness. Then I shared it with one of our patients, a 92 year old African American lady who grew up in Chicago but retired in TN. She raised her hands, clapped and praised it for its truth. She has no tolerance for low class people of any race but takes special umbrage and shame for what she calls hood rats. Masters degree educated lady with poise, dignity and refinement.
