Clarion Project: President Trump’s brazen speech in Saudi Arabia is being praised from (almost) all quarters. Its powerful moments will be remembered for years and will reverberate throughout the Middle East. But no speech is perfect.

Here are seven moments from the speech, starting with what may be the closest President Trump may come to having his “Tear Down This Wall” moment:

    • It is a choice between two futures – and it is a choice America CANNOT make for you.
A better future is only possible if your nations drive out the terrorists and extremists. Drive. Them. Out.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your places of worship.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your communities.
DRIVE THEM OUT of your holy land, and
DRIVE THEM OUT OF THIS EARTH.
This is strongest statement towards the Muslim world uttered by an American president since 9/11 and perhaps in history. These words—and the Trumpian delivery of them—will be remembered for years to come. While eloquent words favored by speechwriters and high-brow elites are usually forgotten, these won’t be.There are also two clear sub-messages: One, that the Muslim world is not adequately “driving them out,” meaning, the Islamists still thrive in mosques, holy lands (which would include Saudi Arabia) and Muslim communities. The enemy are not fringe, undetectable loners. Secondly, don’t outsource your responsibility for this to America.

We won’t let you scapegoat us and have us respond by apologizing for the grievances you use to excuse yourself from responsibility. This is your problem: Own it.  —- See the rest HERE

  1. As long as the west allows countries like Saudi Arabia to talk out of both sides of its mouth and be allowed to feed but never talk to or draw attention to the elephant in the room we’ll never have peace.

Travel to their country without the power of a president or not having something they need and you’ll find out what being an infidel is like
Roads for muslims only and such. I’ve been there – don’t take your Bible along and don’t consider it a free country.

  2. BTW, did you guys see the video of Melania smacking Donald’s hand away as they were walking?
She did it so that he wouldn’t break formation because he was walking ahead of her with other people. It was actually just him trying to reach his hand back for her to be by his side. But the left is taking what she did as her being mad at him. Yeah, they’re that dumb
    Idiots.

  3. Heard one of their royalty say something like its the first time in his life to believe in hope and change! Ha, ha! Hey Obama wasn’t that your quote?

  4. Joey. “Shane, I knew you could, Shane, I knew it well as anything.”
(Shane blows “the low down Yankee liar,” Wilson away)
Donald J. Trump is our Shane. (OK I’m a bit of a romantic)

  5. It was a great and unprecedented speech. Sad thing is that no, the “Muslim World” will not be able to solve this problem. The Muslim World is this problem. Those problems are Islam. What Trump is suggesting is that Islam stop being Islam.

While that needs to happen, the muzzies aren’t the ones who will make it happen.

However, the bright side is that Trump is known for starting at the most extreme position so he has plenty of compromise room without giving away the farm like the Republicans always do. If he can just get the muzzies to stop killing Jews and other infidels and just kill other muzzies, that would be an o.k. start and probably the best case scenario here.

  6. President Trump delivered a vital message. You either take responsibility in your borders or you will not have the US as your friend. The choice is yours.

  7. Trump is still playing too much political correctness, which makes me think that the speech was written by Kushner or his liberal-minded daughter Ivanka.

He still hasn’t realized that the problem isn’t Islamic extremism, THE PROBLEM IS ISLAM.

If Trump sincerely thinks Saudi Arabia is going to police itself, let alone Islam, he’s dangerously naive.

  8. TSUNAMI,

You’re totally missing what just took place. Trump just set the boundaries. “The United States can’t make this decision for you”. Really cool celebration, but he just laid down the law. And gave them carrots, and took their money. Hell yes.

  9. Brad,

With all due respect, Trump didn’t ‘set’ anything of any meaningful importance.

How many of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi nationals? I must have missed the part where Trump said “fuck you” to those ‘kings’. Selling weapons to Saudi’s doesn’t impress me. A Saudi king shaking hands screams to me of Taqiyya. If I was Melania I would have washed my hands in bleach immediately after the event.

For me, the jury is still out. For the sake of what’s left of our country, I hope Trump doesn’t believe any of what he just said to those filthy heathens with towels on their heads.

  10. @Freedom Cat — That was PM Netanyahu who said that and it was a jab at obama.

@Tsunami — It’s easy to be cynical given the history of the West’s (especially the past 8 years under obama) involvement with the ME. But this was an absolutely historic and unprecedented trip in so many ways. Daniel walked into the lion’s den. The ME muslim world leaders are quickly coming to the realization that jihad is not the answer and that Iran must not lead the ideological battle. Notice the relatively sudden use of the term “daesh” — it’s not a term ISIS, Hamas, Hezbollah, or any of the extremist permutations want “infidels” to use. But now it is being used even by ME state leaders in calling out Iran. Egypt’s el Sisi along with late King Abdullah began the work of forming a coalition among ME countries to come up with a solution to extremist acts of aggression and terrorism coming from Yemen, Syria, and Libya. It is most interesting to me the media are silent about Egypt, Syria and Libya being the dominoes that fell under obama’s so-called Arab Spring. Very interesting. Anyway, it is apparent that Salman is continuing the work of Abdullah, particularly with the weekend’s opening in Ridyah of the Global Center for Combating Extremism. If this is all a Saudi head fake, it’s a very public, elaborate one. I don’t believe it is. Trump stated in his remarks in Tel Aviv yesterday that he is convinced the Saudi’s and other muslim world leaders with which he met are deadly serious about combating islamic terrorism and he has great hope of success. But we are at the fragile beginning of this effort.

  11. “Global Center for Combating Extremism”.

Sounds great until WE (Constitutional Conservatives) are dubbed the ‘extremists’.

Abigail, you have to remember who we’re dealing with here. Islam is not going to combat Islam for the sake of world peace. That’s bullshit the media tries to warp our minds with.

The goal of Islam is to spread Islam by lies, persuasion, or forced compliance. They’ll accomplish this task through our blindness and misuse of terms like ‘diversity’ and ‘tolerance’ to cajole us through guilt and self-loathing, any and all of us who are too stupid or indifferent enough to ask WHY?

Someday soon you might be asked to, “submit or die”. If they’re smart, they’ll ask it in a way that’s soft and benevolent on the outside. Rest assured that if you say yes, your soul from that point onward is eternally damned.

Trump may mean well, but remember that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. If Trump is merely playing 3d chess, he’s taking a hell of a risk with OUR lives in doing so.

I’ll remain cynical for the time being.

  12. @Tsunami —

You said: “Someday soon you might be asked to, “submit or die”. If they’re smart, they’ll ask it in a way that’s soft and benevolent on the outside. Rest assured that if you say yes, your soul from that point onward is eternally damned.”

sorry — I was busy from sun-up today and couldn’t get back to this thread and to see if you replied.

Let’s just agree to disagree on this subject. I was hoping to give you reason to see some hope yourself, but I don’t want beat a dead horse. I really don’t like what you said in the above quote. I refuse to engage in this line of thinking. It’s not about you, specifically, but it has to do with my own need to demonstrate faith and trust in my Lord and Savior. And, believe me, I will never be eternally damned. Was that really necessary? I know you and I have a history over Cruz, but that seems like light years ago.

Also, I am not neophyte when it comes to the media and what they say. Everything I’ve written about this comes directly from the horses’ mouths — either the speeches and discussions themselves or the transcripts of them. Please don’t insult me like that again.
