  1. This winter we have been placing peanuts, pecans and almonds out on our window ledge for the band of squirrels that come around. It’ so damn cold and so much snow that watching them trying to forage for something is a pitiful sight.
We now have about eight that come around for their daily meal, and boy are they fat!
I know there are some that think we shouldn’t do this as it makes them dependant, but hey, I get greater satisfaction supplying them their nuts, which is voluntarily, than being forced to pay for welfare parasites.

  2. It snowed another inch of two last night, ugh. I’m tired of driving in this stuff. We had a very mild start to Winter in Dec. and Jan. this yr. but we’ve made up for it in Feb. It’s gotta end soon, DST starts next Sunday. That and Baseball has started Spring training so go away Winter preferably to wherever Al Gore is. We’ve also had a mild enough Winter around here in E. Wash, N. Idaho and NW Montana that there should be an abundance of wildlife this Spring, darned deer seem to be every where especially N. of Libby, Mt. along Lake Koocanusa. .

  3. Always a refreshing treat, Claudia. Your Fox pictures are the most whimsical.

In the Knoxville, TN area, the high will be around 65 degrees and rain/snow by sunrise. We tell visitors here that if you don’t like e weather, wait 15 minutes.

  4. Going to be 73F today like just about everyday. Nite time low @ 52F. I’m here for the climate in the western highlands of Panama.

GoreWarmBullying will continue until the money dries up.

  5. @hanover, Glad to know you were there. My dad bought me a three day pass for the Fair. I was in the USAF stationed at Barksdale AFB at the time. It was a treat! Most of the pavilions are gone. The list of places still there are, the amphitheater, part of the water feature/pond (Second Creek), some of the older buildings are/were restaurants, and of course the Sun Sphere. Much of the original lot was a train yard before the Fair and there is one track running through it. The best change made there is the Veteran’s Memorial. Enjoy reminiscing.

  6. I remember watching the squirrels “dive” under the snow looking for food during winters in NE Ohio. Dad used to leave peanut butter out for them during those tough winters.

  7. Ah, love the snow leopard – but all are great shots.

It’s in the teens in these parts – but we thankfully, seemed to have escaped the 10 inches of snow predicted.
