  1. Guess who pays for all that researching, publishing, laboratory, post-doctoral student stipends, etc?

    Grants from the government; your wallet, your kids’ future.

  2. Well, duh. Most of that is never read by anyone. The only reason it’s written in the first place is some the author can list it on his CV.

    Welcome to modern academia.

  3. I’m willing to bet that well over 50% of this rubbish is not read out of academia.

    I’m also willing to bet that 50% of that figure isn’t read by anyone!

  4. I knew a Post-Doc who spent a week debunking a Professor’s paper, and when the Post-Doc confronted the Professor with it, the Professor said: “I published that nearly 6 weeks ago … why are you wasting your time on that?”
