uesday, the Heritage Foundation launched its news blog, The Daily Signal and as part of the launch announced that former CBS award-winning investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson will be joining the site as Senior Independent Contributor.
In an interview with Kelsy Harkness, a news producer for the site, Attkisson explained why she agreed to contribute to The Daily Signal:
The Daily Signal promised to be a good outlet for an under-served story—in this case, the one about the baby oxygen trials—in a way that the story could naturally tell itself. And in a fearless way because there are people who do want to shy away from these types of stories that are critical of government or powers that be. I think those are some of the most important stories that need to be told today.
Her first report “Full Disclosure: Did Government’s Experiment on Preemies Hide Risks?” is already up at the site.

I like this. She is a brave soul and her voice needs to be heard, even though I suspect we will not always agree with her. I do think she will be fair and honest, though.
