If young adults cannot be trusted with Free Speech, why are we allowing them to vote? – IOTW Report

If young adults cannot be trusted with Free Speech, why are we allowing them to vote?

Lost Dog sent over a Protein Wisdom post where the US Civil Rights Commissioner (we have one of those?) explains why college campuses should be a place where speech is regulated and 1st amendment rights are suspended.

My post title is Protein Wisdom’s exit question. I’d like to see that asked of the distinguished gentlemen from Stutterandstammerville, particularly since the young people overwhelmingly vote left.

  1. 1/4 OT

SINCE YOU MENTION …so why are they allowed to vote?
…I’LL ADD my two bit that, since the 18-year-old vote was approved based on the MILITARY DRAFT of 18-year-olds during the Vietname War, that…

…SINCE there is NO LONGER any Draft…certainly not of 18-year-olds…THERE IS NO LONGER A BASIS TO ALLOW THEM TO VOTE until 21.

  2. Hmmm, make the minimum voting age 25 years old. That so-called civil rights commissioner says the brain is still growing at 18 years, so it should be given time to grow. Unless you volunterred to serve in the military, then you can vote. Interesting that this statement comes out of an Obamabot!

  3. Personally, (and I’m gonna take some crap from this comment), I think that people who don’t produce shouldn’t be able to vote, and the 19th Amendment should be repealed (no female vote).

I also think 30 should be the minimum age to vote.

As an aside, I think all men from age 18 should be forced to serve a 2 year minimum in the military.

No homosexuals should be allowed to join the military, and no women in combat positions.

If you think I’m being sexist, I don’t care.
