I could stand to listen to Bush, as awful a public speaker as he was, because you knew he was just a good guy who simply wasn’t very gifted verbally. I even sat through Clinton’s “inappropriate relations” confession in 1998 because that was just about the same thing that has been the downfall of many men throughout history.
Based on the unavoidable clips of Obama speaking that I’ve seen recently, I’m now convinced he has a substance abuse problem. The same person who set the Democratic National Convention on fire in 2004 should be able to way better than the phoning-it-in oration we’ve seen lately.
