(NEWSER) – Think of it as practice: After EMTs in Hoboken got multiple calls about a baby in a hot car, they rushed to the scene, bashed in a window … and discovered that the child in distress was actually a doll, reports ABC 7. It seems the 2-year-old granddaughter of Kitty Mieles left it in grandma’s car seat. “The guys that were on the ambulance are taking a beating by their coworkers, but it’s all in good fun,” the president of the Hoboken Ambulance Corps tells CBS New York. “But again, I’d rather err on the side of caution. You can replace a window. You can’t replace a life.”
.
I saw the doll in question, and would have done the same! That thing looked REAL!
That child will Lear not to leave her baby in the car.
That looks like an old doll used to teach ‘skulls full of mush’ the dangers of smoking. The body was clear so people could see the smoke.
I had a girl friend like that
Hey, plastic can melt!
“You can replace a window. You can’t replace a life.”
Absolutely.
Who gets to pay for the window? The Hoboken Bar Ass’n. wants to know.
I’m with Doc. Video, with the actual doll in question is here: http://7online.com/family/hoboken-emts-break-into-car-to-rescue-baby-doll/230377/
Good intensions and luckily a false alarm. I just wonder how close the inevitable swat team got to arresting the car owner.
So was she OK?
