Affirmative Action Scientist Pulls the “I Didn’t Mean Nuthin’ By My Christmas Day Tweets”

A telltale sign that someone isn’t all that smart is that they think everyone is too stupid to see the donut powder around their mouth as they say they didn’t eat the jelly donut.

The Daily Mail

‘On this day long ago, a child was born who, by age 30, would transform the world. Happy Birthday Isaac Newton b. Dec 25, 1642,’ he tweeted.

The TV personality followed it up with another tweet that also inflamed conservative Christians: ‘Merry Christmas to all. A Pagan holiday (BC) becomes a Religious holiday (AD). Which then becomes a Shopping holiday (USA).’

Earlier in the day, he had also tweeted, ‘QUESTION: This year, what do all the world’s Muslims and Jews call December 25th? ANSWER: Thursday.’

This was his statement regarding the backlash-

‘If a person actually wanted to express anti-Christian sentiment, my guess is that alerting people of Isaac Newton’s birthday would appear nowhere on the list.’

Drop dead.

  1. “There is no God but Einstein, and Tyson is his prophet.”

James Lileks. National Review 12/31/2014 p.39

Were it not for affirmative action, this guy would be a Toll Booth collector or a Postal Worker. That is if he were inclined to work for a living.

  2. For all you Christians: Saul didn’t just tweet offensive stuff at the Christians, he hunted them down and killed them. Whenever I read about someone like the so-called scientist, above, I think, “Hmm. God must be tapping on this guy’s soul and he’s so freaked-out by it that he’s decided to not only ignore the call but to entreat others to join him in his denial.” If God can strike Saul blind and gain his soul, no telling what else he can do to the average scientist. So, Christians, pray for this man — that he might also have his road to Damascus event. The best apologists for the Christian faith are converted “scientists.”

  3. To govlawyer- I do totally agree with your premise. I retired 7 years ago with a great state pension…..I got bored and took a job at a private golf course doing what you described (towel boy and I also shine shoes). It pays WAY more than a so-called living wage and as good as most union factory jobs…..I dont think he would be qualified and obviously wouldn’t have the personality to make it work. Most rewarding job I ever had!

  4. “Tyson responded to the accusations the next day with another tweet: ‘Imagine a world in which we are all enlightened by objective truths rather than offended by them.'”

It shouldn’t offend the good scientist, then, to be reminded that those who pioneered the various fields of science were, objectively, Christian-minded men who believed in a Creator.

  5. “Tyson responded to the accusations the next day with another tweet: ‘Imagine a world in which we are all enlightened by objective truths rather than offended by them.’”

This is a really odd statement for any enlightened person to make today since the objective truth of the historiography of Christ and Christianity is settled. Historians rely on the known accounts of Jesus Christ’s existence as a man. One of the best presenters of this info is Ravi Zacharias and one of the men who works with him, Nabeel Quereshi (a trained M.D.)

This fellow sounds like some of the many other unenlightened scientists who were interviewed by Ray Comfort.

  6. Tyson is a fool. He’s swirling in a primordial soup of nonsensical leftist ideology. Not holding out hope for someone so intentionally stupid.
@AbigailAdams, excellent points and great references. I have a pet peeve about some bible scholars calling themselves “Apologists”. There is nothing to apologize for.

  7. @pbird, thanks. Posting dumb thoughts on a blog is pretty embarrassing. Still, wish there was another word that could be used to describe defense of the Christian faith.

  8. That’s that asshole on Nova who thinks the universe is trying to kill him. I didn’t recognize him the other day from his twitter picture. He tries really hard to steer people away from any belief in God. The devil’s boy right there.
