BigGovernment- Sydney (AFP) — A diver was killed by a shark Saturday while hunting scallops off the coast of Australia as his daughter watched helplessly, shocking locals in an area not known for such attacks.
The attack happened off Maria Island in the southern island state of Tasmania following sightings of a large great white shark in the vicinity over recent days.
The man, in his late 40s, was diving with his adult daughter when he failed to resurface.
“My understanding is the daughter returned to the boat and the father returned to get some more scallops,” Tasmania Police Inspector David Wiss told reporters. “He did not return to the surface.
“His daughter became worried and went down and checked on her father, she saw a very large shark, she saw her father being attacked by the shark.” MORE
As some woman ranted on Facebook a few weeks ago:
The ocean is the “shark’s house” and “he has the right to eat you when you’re in his house”
I wanna to go to Scarlett Johansson’s house!

I wonder if we taste like chicken (of the sea)?
Other than that, how are the scallops?
I suspect the sharks are being driven closer to shore because of the factory fishing (especially tuna) that’s taking place in the oceans now. Couple that with more and more people using the water for recreation and I’m surprised there aren’t even more Shark v man-lunch taking place. Too damn bad really as the you know the shark will get the sh*t end of the stick. Hell, boats are out there taking thousands of sharks just for their fins to delight the asian crowd then tossing the shark back in the water to drown. It’s situations like that that makes we wish I had a watersport recreational vehicle like say, a U-Boat.
Globaloney Warming Climax Change is forcing the sharks to eat people. This is the single greatest threat to humanity. Not a nuclearized Iran, not ISIS, not the destruction of America – no, it’s that … uhh … Globaloney Warming Climax Change Stuff that … uhh … all those gov’t funded “scientists” are squawking about … and … uhh … stuff.
So there he was, harvesting some bivalves, when HE got harvested.
Ain’t Nature grand?
He probably had a family to feed and someone besides his daughter dependent on him. Sad, but life can be very cruel.
Only if you’re a piano tuner named Charlie.
