BearingArms: The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) warned Seattle Mayor Ed Murray last week that if he signed the city council’s “gun violence tax” into law, that Seattle;s citizens would have to pay to defend the law in court.

Well, Murray unwisely signed the bill into law on Friday, and the city was slapped with lawsuit today:

  1. “Attorneys for the Second Amendment Foundation, National Rifle Association and National Shooting Sports Foundation, joined by two of the city’s firearms retailers – Outdoor Emporium and Precise Shooter LLC – and two private citizens, filed their lawsuit in King County Superior Court.”

“and two private citizens” Are you kidding me, they actually found two private citizens in that progressive waste land to stand up for their second amendment rights?

  2. If a concealed carry permit holder rides a bike to work and drives a Prius on the weekend- how many pretzel twist logic flips does Mayor Murray take in one press conference?

What does the Mayor care about spending citizen’s money, it doesn’t come out of his pocket.
When has spending someone else’s money ever stopped a liberal from doing something stupid?
    (Answer: Never)

  4. GOA, NSSF and SAF are much better places to donate to than the NRA-ILA. They are not reliable and I say that as an Endowment Member and both my two year old and six year old are Life Members of the NRA.

Don’t get me wrong, please do donate to the NRA to support shooting sports, and hunter education etc. but as for the money you donate to defend against attack on the Second Amendment or to influence legislation the NRA-ILA is the last place you want to send any money. They are worse than ineffective, they will actively collude to dry-shave us.

You no longer send the Republican Party money to spend as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell see fit, because you are not an idiot. Use the same discretion when it comes to money you donate to defend your right to keep and bear arms.

  5. It used to be that pasty white Marxists and their various butt boys would have known what ‘infringed’ really meant and would not have pushed the issue. But now with the broken down judicial system in full flower all they have to do is find an Obama appointed, Affirmative Action seat warmer who can easily be convinced that the infringement part was really meant to stop people from keeping and bearing arms!

  6. I got pilloried in a personal email fro writing the above. So let me clarify things a bit… despicable is too mild a word to apply to the character of the NRA-ILA.

They lie to members, they collude with Democrats who are seeking to take away your rights, they constantly badger and cajole members and when it comes time for them to show up they are seldom, if ever, there.

As I have said, this does to apply to the NRA in general, but it applies to the ILA and I will go so far as to say that I see the political arm of the NRA as an unmitigated menace.

  7. I swear there are even MORE psychotic leftists up in the Pacific NW than there are anywhere else in the country! Must be the climate – all that rain they (usually) get must allow all sorts of black mold to grow on what passes for their brains!

  8. My son has lived in Austin, Texas for years and has become tired of the liberal douche-baggieness that has infected the once great city, but he recently went to Portland, Oregon for a week to train with his job. I asked him how things were shaking in Portland and he said it made Austin look ultra-conservative by comparison.
