The protesters — some of who are more than two weeks into a hunger strike — didn’t let his exit stop their campaign. The group is pushing for a new neighborhood school in the historic Dyett building, supporting a plan for a Dyett Green Technology and Global Leadership High School.
Snip: We covered the protesters on hunger strike HERE
ChicagoSunTimes: Police escorted Mayor Rahm Emanuel from a town hall meeting Wednesday night after protesters, concerned about the fate of a neighborhood school building, stormed the stage and confronted him.
When a protester jumped on stage during the meeting on the Southeast Side, he was first warned but then tempers in the crowd soon erupted.
“You will have to get down,” Chicago Park District Board Vice President Avis LaVelle, the town hall moderator, told the protester during the meeting at the South Shore Cultural Center.
But the protester didn’t listen. And within seconds, the stage where Emanuel sat — his second of three town hall meetings about the city’s budget — became a pulpit for about 20 protesters. MORE
They vote to put the useless douchebag socialist in power and they think he’s interested in whether or not their children are educated?
Why’s the white guy brushing his teeth if he’s on a hunger strike?
Looks like it is going to be a long strike for some of them
“Dyett Green Technology and Global Leadership High School.”
Yeah, right.
‘Looks’ like the Hunger Strike hasn’t enuf effect, yet.
looks like they do need a dyett
It would make more sense to have them open a school that actually taught them something useful that could would give them a leg up on getting a job or into some post-secondary institution that also taught them something useful. Maybe the Green Technology part has classes in how to commit fraud and extort money while the Global Government has classes in setting up a Clinton Global Initiative type of fund for fun and profit. Hell, maybe Hillary and Bill will be out of jail by then and could be lecturers just like Obama. For those confused Obama was called a “Professor” of constitutional law until someone looked a little closer. Judging past past performance on the subject his students ought to ask for a refund.
By the by, it looks like a lot of these protesters could really use a hunger strike although several look like they’ve bee cheating a tad.
I wonder how many of their whelps can spell, and define, “technology?”
