Schools scramble to deny responsibility for paltry Michelle O breakfast

EAG News: LUBBOCK, Texas – There’s a controversy brewing around Lubbock regarding an unappetizing school breakfast photo depicting what appears to be a tortilla shell with three tater tots and a few bacon bits.

KCBD reports the meal photo was shared by local parents on Facebook as an example of the puny offerings served up in schools under Michelle Obama’s “healthy” school food regulations, and the news site attempted to track down where the image originated.

Officials in several area school districts, however, are denying responsibility for the failure as area parents continue to flood KCBD’s Facebook page with other examples.  MORE

  1. Lest we forget: This all started long before the Obamas came to power. Our benevolent government determined that parents weren’t feeding their children properly before sending them off to the local government indoctrination center, so they enacted a school lunch program at taxpayer expense. Just another way of taking parental responsibility and handing it over to the nanny state.

  2. Parents, take back your responsibility for feeding you own kids. Pack their lunch. Feed them breakfast before they leave for school.

Stop letting the government make you irrelevant.

  3. I’ve noticed that the cause of a lot of things that don’t work as advertised can be traced to federal government. Plenty of guilt to be shared by Obama, Moose, McConnell, Boehner, SCOTUS, etc.
Sadly the foundational problem is a population that tolerates it. Or to state it another way – a population that lacks a sufficient majority to end the failures.

  4. Schools have been feeding breakfast lunch and dinner to tax payer subsidized kids for years. There are also roaming food trucks serving meals to tax payer dependent people when school is out over summer vacation.

It illustrates the fact that EBT, SNAP, Food stamps, and so on, are being squandered by the adults getting them. The adults live such chaotic lives they do not know how to put food on the table, plan a meal, pack a lunch.

We are probably paying for the third or fourth welfare generation now.

  5. As much as I like bagging on Mooch, her nutrition directive probably goes something like: Cut the calories to these levels.
The school (being manned by career public servant imbicels) take that ball and run with it.
Instead of applying the nutritional and culinary acumen at their disposal, and designing nutritional and appealing meals, they figure out caloric quantities by looking up the nutritional equivalents of each piece of food in some book and doing arithmetic (hence the three tater tots).
This shows all the initiative of a narcoleptic, the creativity of a brick and just what I expect from liberal bureaucratic drones.
I suggest cane therapy on the staff.
A vigorous bout of corporal punishment handed out at the school manager levels will do the trick.
Especially if it is done in the cafeteria at lunch.

  6. Would it be so bad to teach home economics to the welfare crowd? I think it should be required for welfare, food stamps, SNAP,EBT and all the little taxpayer drains.

Home economics, a valuable class, dropped from our schools because womyn, and the special snowflake curriculum.
