Guns ‘n’ Freedom: One reason to carry is for the simple fact that police can take an average of 5-10 minutes to respond. However, this one lady had the worst experience after she had to dial 9-1-1 again after an hour had passed and no police had arrived yet.
Here is how the story unfolded.
The woman at 210 Richmond Avenue called 9-1-1 at 3:05 a.m. to report that men were breaking into her home. She grabbed her pistol and fled upstairs thinking that the police would show up and catch the thieves red handed.
For some reason though the regional dispatcher said that an officer was not dispatched until the lady called back at 4:08 to report that she had shot an intruder. MORE

It takes the ambulance or the coroner just as long where i live. Why even bother calling the police?
Good shoot.
I’m heading into the bunker.
It seems the police have become gatekeepers for the insurance industry.
If the cops don’t write a report, it never happened.
You can tell the detectives exactly who, what, when and why you were robbed, the next week, the robbers greet you in the liquor store.
I carry a weapon because a cop is too Dunkin’ heavy.
Love a story with a happy ending.
Just to say you tried to give them a chance to save the day.
Seriously.
CYA
Always contact the police after every need to pull your gun.
The criminal could call them to say you brandished a gun during their crime (that they’ll deny) and you don’t look so good since you never called the police. Think about it.
