We just need one Governor to call a State Convention

Conservative Papers:  We just need one Governor to call a State Convention and then decree the state is seceding from the Union and the others will follow. Technically, and legally, Washington D.C. is a Foreign Entity to the States and operates as such illegally.

article 5

Enough Governors agreeing WOULD bring about a quorum of Senators, regardless of party affiliations. A Quorum of Senators is all that is legally required. The right to withdraw from the union is the same process most states followed to enter into this contract, state-based secession conventions.  It is time to consider the benefits of sovereign states participating in a decentralized republic similar to America’s 1st government, #Seceding free of the false chains that threaten our economic future from the likely Washington debt/dollar collapse might be our last chance.

  1. Dare to dream. These self serving morons, most of them, would never, ever stick their necks out not even for the people of their state. Texas might be the only state willing to go the route. They other ones are hiding under their desks, to terrified, to act in a purely responsible way in an effort to curtail the tyranny with inevitable economic collapse that DC is shackling everyone to.

  2. Doing before the current king is deposed would be a mistake.
He has made it clear that the tyrant Lincoln is who he models himself after.
Nothing would suit him better than an ’emergency’ where he could suspend congress and turn the military on US citizens as Lincoln did. It would also be a rational to suspend the presidential election until after hostilities end.

  3. “Technically, and legally, Washington D.C. is a Foreign Entity to the States and operates as such illegally.”<

WRONG. It WAS Constitutionally set up, but explicitly so NOT to be a part of any one State

  4. Gov. Andrew Cuomo was unavailable for comment. He was too busy figuring out ways to end civil rights violations against transgenders, take away guns from law-abiding citizens, spending New York’s budget surplus on pork, and living in sin.

  5. It was a different era then. Attitudes of bottling up central government are much more prevalent to day than states rights were then. You must also take into account that we’re divided not by state but by population centers vs rural and the rural surround all the population centers.

  6. My God , the amount of BS in this article is frigging amazing. Where do I start? Well first of all , the states gave birth to the Federal Government so it’s not “illegal”.

“We just need one Governor to call a State Convention and then decree the state is seceding from the Union and the others will follow.”

Second, It’s that easy huh? Just someone declare it and all fixed!
Where will the ex-state get its military protection from, how about banking, water ? Power? – (So stupid it’s mind numbing)

Lawd , I could go on but why? There is so much stupid I cant take it serious. ( it almost feels like It’s written by a liberal. Maybe it was)

  7. Yes it was a different era. The States were much more autonomous and self-sufficient prior to the Civil War than at the present time. Also, today’s attitudes of bottling up central government do not equate to a desire to eliminate central government. Any State that leaves the Union today will be in the same position as a four-year old running away from home: “OK, so you left the house and made it all the way across the street. Now what are you going to do?”.

See WP’s comment below. It’s spot on.

  8. I don’t believe the military would move against the states. I don’t know about other states but Texas has a formidable National Guard and we would not take kindly to federal assaults.
