Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore announced on Friday that he is suspending his campaign for president.
“My campaign was intended to offer the gubernatorial experience with the track record of a true conservative, experienced in national security, to unite the party.” Gilmore said in a statement sent to the Washington Examiner. “My goal was to focus on the importance of this election as a real turning point, and to emphasize the dangers of continuing on a road that will further undermine America’s economy and weaken our national security.”
Hey Jim, nice tight grouping of platitudes in that goodbye.
So I guess we’ll see you around huh?
I actually liked Jim. Impressive resume. Unfortunately, every answer included said resume. Every One. In case you missed it last time.
@jsg: Apparently he decided not to resume campaigning.
;P
Who? Was he the 5th dem on the under card.
WHO?
WHO?
IOTWR seems to be infested with owls today…
😉
Now, the real question on everyone’s mind is: who will he throw the weight of that big 0% behind?
Oh, Jim!
Say it ain’t so!
Wha … wha … wha thefuq will America do NOW?
Meh. He wasn’t a bad governor. He was determined to do away with our “car tax,” but was only able to cut it in half. This set off revenue shortages in every county across the state, and the whining was awful. He was the last “R” gov we had that remembered that the plank was built on low taxes, so I’ll give him credit for that.
He was gov when 9/11 hit, and I remember taking my toddlers to pre-school that day and being grateful that it was an “R” running the state, who was serious about protecting citizens and all of our military bases and naval stations, which was where we thought the next inevitable hit was coming.
So long, Jimbo.
Gilmour’s collaboration with Waters created some of the most imaginative music of the 70s and 80s.
Raising the eternal question, “If Jim Gilmour falls in the forest …”
Man…where his voters will go is the BIG question. Could be enough to push Jebbie over the top….
