Trump cites Jewish charity in explanation for not disavowing KKK

The characterization Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” is about as direct as the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination has been so far in disavowing the white supremacist who expressed support for him.

But Trump had to add a wrinkle.  MORE

  1. Duke didn’t endorse Trump. Duke specifically stated at the time on the radio that he was not endorsing Trump. But I guess that doesn’t matter as long as the narrative moves forward.

  2. Trump needs to just STFU like Hilldabeest does about everything negative towards her….stop talking about it, stop making excuses..stop digging yourself in deeper, Donald… Learn that lesson from the Shrew!!

  3. HEY FUR,
If we’re gonna get this kind of
    anti-Trump cr*p from MJA,
can you please let Pinko post A FEW of his
to balance things out a bit?

    Thanks.

  4. David Duke isn’t a member of the KKK, hasn’t been for over 20 years. David Duke didn’t endorse Trump.

This is the kind of crap I expect from TRS and Sooper Mexican.

    Stop. Lying.

  5. I know Trump is educated, because he tells us he is, however, every time I watch him, I am floored by his grammar, vocabulary, sentence structures, repetitive phrases, unfinished thoughts, and wandering rhetoric. He’s almost as lousy at public speaking as Obama.

If he was a recent graduate, I could understand, because education has been decimated. But he is 69 years old, went to ‘great’ schools, and is s successful businessman. What gives? Is he talking down to his supporters? That would be a real insult!

  6. This is critical. Did Duke endorse him or not is irrelevant. The fact is Trump was asked about him and the only correct answer is something in the vain of: I reject Duke and all that he stands for and if there are any Duke supporting cretins out there that may be too stupid to understand I just insulted them by the word “cretin” let me clear it up- that offense was on purpose and it is personal to you because I don’t want your votes. I’d try to make a joke about what kind of environment produces such mental Neanderthals (people who see everything in terms of the color of ones skin) but its not funny. To be clear I’d say the same thing if Louis Farrakhan or Al Sharpton endorsed me.

The “I don’t know who Duke is” could have worked if Trump was not on record as calling Duke a racist before. The whole “I don’t know what you mean by ‘white supremacist'” shows Trump to be either 1. Too ill-informed a.k.a. too stupid to be POTUS or 2. unable to identify evil when it presents it’s self and thereby are unfit to be POTUS.

The only thing Trump has going for him should he get the nomination is that he will be running against Hillary who is less qualified to be POTUS. But the problem is Hillary will have all of Hollywood and the media behind her which means they will ignore her disqualifications and even lie to cover them up all the while doing a full court press on Donald’s real Achilles’s heal. He went from being able to crush Hillary to being crushed by Hillary.

  7. The upside is he’s not going to pee on your leg and tell it’s raining. I’ve heard more deliberate lies from the two other candidates in a single interview and in one campaign commercial than I’ve heard gaffes and missteps from Trump in over 7 months.

But the “beat Trump” goes on because ’tis far easier for the other two guys to direct their supporter’s attention to Trump’s supposed failings than to answer direct questions about their own records.

I’m still waiting for a real answer from anyone about Cruz and TPA/TPP. And what kinds of deal-making can we expect from him with his mega-millions superPACs?

  8. Sam — Trump isn’t talking down to anyone. He’s basically having a conversation and if you listen to him long enough you would know that he invariably comes back to his point. He stays on his simple message because that’s what is important to him and to his listeners. But don’t mind me, let the pile-on continue.

You all realize of course that if Trump has to leave the race, that gives us Romney.

  9. Abigail if you have not Trump lying its because you have not been paying attention.

I’d like to know what kind of deals Trump will be getting with the Goverment if he becomes POUTS. Will Trump put all of his holdings in a double blind Trust like Mitt did? If not there is not reason to ask why not.

  10. Pelopidas — Are you trying to make a “thing” now out of how Donald Trump is going to become a dictator and use the federal gov’t to enrich his organization? Because that’s what you’re speculating. Cruz has no ethics and apparently neither do many of his fans.

It is a condition of running for the office that candidates sign away their control over their business interests so their is no conflict of interest. But you would like your little whispers to get some traction.

  11. Czar — Didn’t you get the memo? IOTWr is now officially a pro-Cruz/anti-Trump blog. Oh, there may be some inadvertent blog posts about The Donald, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out they also are oblique insults in one way or another. It’s the way it has to be because one cannot push Cruz while singing the praises of his so-called opponent.

  12. Abigail- to be clear. I do not believe Trump would or could become a dictator. I was ambivalent towards Trump to begin with. I thought- if nothing else he will give the press hell for 4 years and the country will have a FLOTUS who is easy on the eyes. But the more I looked into him the more I realized he is everywhere on the map- he is for partial birth abortion but he is pro-life; he has bragged about bedding married women but he thinks the bible is the best book ever written; he thinks Hillary would be a great POTUS, was a great Sectary of State but she would be a disaster as POTUS; he never settles lawsuits, he has settled law suits. The list keeps going on and on. Because he has never held public office he is, I think, a Rorschach test. People see what they want to see. The very last POTUS that won because no one knew anything about but the masses saw what they wanted to see was Obama.

I bring up the money because you accused Cruz of being beholding to super pacts. If Trump announced he was putting his holdings into a double blind trust then I would feel better about him being POTUS. But it is now a moot point.

To be clear, Trump would be better than Hillary. No question. But only because he may get it right on purpuse and then again he may get it right on accident and if he gets it wrong it will be because he is wrong but not because he hates America. Hillary will get it wrong because what she believes is wrong and she hates America. But here is the rub- as of the day Trump played games in not shooting down Duke is the day he lost to Hillary. He gave everything Hillary needs to destroy him. And by the first Tuesday in November Trump will be synonymous with racial bigotry. The truth won’t matter because we are talking about a Democrat war machine with the Clinton’s at the helm. They invented the ‘art’ of “politics of personal destruction”.

  13. It’s pretty obvious that Trump and his followers can’t take the heat.

You should be able to take some warranted criticism of your guy without whining.

    Grow up for goodness sake!

  14. Pelopidas, you said…”Because he has never held public office he is….. People see what they want to see”

That applies to everyone. The fact is Trump disavowed Duke and the KKK two days prior doesnt matter to you. Or that in Sept. 2015 he also said no on the subject. He is on record many times, but the question was fabrication and asked yet again as a gotcha.

Trump supporters see the hit for what it was, Trump haters just glom on to what they “feel” is the truth

  15. Anon — Can’t take the heat? LOL We watched a highly-coordinated and executed attack on the Republican front runner carried out by his wannabes at the behest of the Establishment last night. Remember all those people that Conservative, Inc. has waged war on for the past several decades? They are hypocrites of the highest order! In fact, if you Bing “hypocrite” every single one of the people at Fox News, the RNC, the GOP leadership, the congress — with few exceptions, the senate — with fewer exceptions, and the entire universe of American media would be your results. Plus, all the people who now suddenly “flip-flop” on their own loyalties and ethics in order to win an election for Cruz.

    And Trump’s popularity just increased.

Yes, we can take the heat. It’s just starting to get comfortable. We’re in our element now.

  16. This question and the idiot press and elites response to it really bothers me. It means that if you are white and in a white organization, then you don’t have any place in this country. Yet if you are a member of any of the numerous organizations that support black supremacy or Mexican or Islam, then you are a victim and need the full backing of the government. Don’t we need to include everyone? Or will that come with the revolution.

  17. Abagial- People seeing into Trump what they want does not apply to all candidate’s. Not by a long shot. Marco is taking hell for the gang of 8 and Grahm has said Cruz could be murdered in the Senate and no Senators would care. Is there anyone who is confused on where Hillary stands?

I do not hate Trump. I was neutral on Trump- that was until I started seeing all the inconstancy stances he has on every single issue. But I could even look past that because of the ear twisting of the media and like I said- his wife as FLOTUS would be a major improvement.

It does not matter what he said about Duke before the Taper interview. It does not matter what he said about Duke after the Taper interview. What matters is what he said during the Taper interview and it is going to be cut and looped and played back more than the Rodney King beating video. Trump has only himself to blame. His stormturmpers may carry him to the nomination but he will loose to Hillary, I was willing to vote for Trump if it came down to it to prevent Hillary from winning. But with this lead lined speedo is will sink in the general election.

Don’t shoot the messenger. Just deal with the reality. This is worse than Mitt’s 47% statement. Its all the rope the Democrat war machine with Bill at the controls need to hang Trump. Just think about that. With Bill, known rapist, (but that was then and Trump is a Duke loving now- it does not matter what the truth is we are talking about the Clintons who will lie and what better lie is it when you have a particle of truth, or in this case A LIVE INTERVIEW ON TAPE where Trump will not disavow Duke)

  18. Pelopidas — That’s the old paradigm in which those who think they set the rules of play have no imagination to see the outcome any other way. It’s a new day in America and Americans do not care what the establishment want. It’s what we want, now. You can bank on it.

  19. Abigail- from your mouth to God’s ears. The non establishment types long for a candidate who will ‘tell it like it is’. I’m down for and with that. I happen to like my candidate to be consistent on the issues and practice what he preaches but in this day and age one can’t be too picky.

What will not fly is someone who, the day before super Tuesday, will not, with 100% clarity, disavow David Duke at the time he is asked and on the spot. Trump shot himself in the foot and he has only himself to blame.

  20. P — I have no way of knowing if you are misinformed or just lying. I suspect the latter, but either way, you’re wrong. Very clumsy use of Alinsky tactics, btw.

  21. Gladys. your’er delusional… …. if you think the general elections will not ignore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9rzi5vRpvE

To be clear- Trump was asked about 1. David Duke 2. who was a “Grand Wizard in the kkk” and 3. a white supremacist then 4. David Duke and “the Ku Klu Klan” and Trump said he had no idea what those “organizations” were about.

If you think the Clinton war machine will not be able to turn that into 30 second adds saying “Do you really think Trump did not know what the KU KLUX KLAN is?” “What does that tell us about Donald Trump? He is either too stupid to be POTUS or he is too racist to be POTUS and as we all know Trump went to Harvard (insert clip of Trump bragging about how smart he is because he went to Harvard) so what does that leave us with?”

That is some guy, who thinks Trump would be a better POTUS than Hillary thought that up faster than it took the time to type it. Imagine what a Clinton believer who is paid to come up with this kind of stuff will do.

  22. For anyone who still has questions as to how bad this Duke thing is or worse thinks its not big deal think of it this way.

A reporter asks you ” Insert obscure name, a former Grand Wizard in the KKK and white supremacist said something positive about you; what are your thoughts?”

And your response is “I don’t know who “insert obscure name is” and “I don’t know about the organizations you mentioned?” Game OVER!

A possible win answer would have been “I have no idea who Obscure name is but if you are telling me he affiliates with the KKK then I don’t need to no anything else- The KKK is bad. I reject the KKK and any and all groups that associate with or affiliate at with categorically, in the strongest possible terms.

Trump, with the help of his Stormtumpers may win the nomination but he will not win the general election.

  23. Abigail….. Calm down! There’s positive stuff you can do between now and the Ides of March for The Donald. It may be “over” then…? Or, we wait until Cleveland…? ….and watch the Brexit from the EU by Britain…? Now we just have to keep The Donald alive, in both ways.

  24. Lady in Red — Honestly, I’ve never been calmer. What did I say to make it seem not so?

In fact I’m really enjoying this general election cycle like no other! I have no doubt that Trump will come out of this process a winner because it’s his opposition, which is everyone else, who are telegraphing their fears and acting them out. To borrow from Churchill: Never have so many done so much to look so desperate. You can smell it on them.

Americans know what’s up and Trump knows how to scare his opposition into a chaotic stampede. If there was ever a person who was built to respond to it, it was Donald Trump. He thrives on it.

I think where Trump supporters may be feeling anxious is in knowing just how evil the establishment can be and not thinking that Trump is equal to the task.

  25. P — Duke did not endorse Trump. Saying “nice things” about someone is not an endorsement. Trump is not going to bend to the will of the media who would like to beat him (and the rest of us) into submission. And the duplicity of Cruz fans, who say they love political incorrectness but are screaming for Trump to bow to it is breathtaking. Who gives a sh*t? Duke has only told the media six ways to Sunday that he didn’t endorse Trump.

At this point I think we’re all very tired of the being called racists or having a pissant talking head try to sneak it in. And that is exactly what they are trying to do. It won’t work. It’s a lie.

But you’ve got a guy, Glenn Beck, who is not some distant personality but an actual stumper for Cruz, who says he’d knife Trump in an act of homocidal overkill. Where’s the outrage over that?

  26. “…where Trump supporters may be feeling anxious is in knowing just how evil the establishment can be…” ….in a nutshell!

Keep the faith. …smile… ….Lady in Red
