In the wake of capitulating to race grievance demonstrators, Mizzou is already experiencing a decline in applications so severe that it is closing four dorms, and a drop in donations that is causing a financial crisis. Although the faculty no longer includes Melissa “I need some muscle” Click, apparently race-obsessed leftists still occupy positions of power. The university’s Faculty Council Committee on Race Relations is digging an even deeper hole for the school.

Rumor has it the university is changing their motto from “Let the welfare of the people be the supreme law” (it offends the snowflakes in the BLM) to “Melissa Click died for your sins”.
The question “Does the University of Missouri have a death wish?” treats the U as a unitary entity. It isn’t one. It is simply an institution with various functionaries associated with it: students, teachers, administrators, support staff. I make this point to identify the culprits: a subset of the teachers and administrators who are loyal to a progressive collectivist ideology to the detriment of the institution itself and more importantly to the other individuals associated with it. The term “death wish” usually implies death of self, i.e., suicide. What’s happening here is murder.
No death wish – just a lot of clueless academics. The real world does not exist for them – until the paychecks stop coming in and reality barges in through the front door.
Universities probably need to change their tenure rules, or eliminate tenure altogether. Tenure was designed to protect academics from retaliation for novel or radical ideas, but in this case it is the academics themselves retaliating against those who disagree with them. If that’s how they want to play the game, time to remove the safety net.

As goes Mizzou, so goes the nation. University staffs are full of just about the dumbest and most clueless bastards in the nation. Dumb bastards with walls full of degrees are so arrogant they have no idea how worthless they are. Fire their worthless asses, see how long they last at the Drive Up window before going on welfare. Outlaw tenure. Mandate 5 years in the Competitive, Free Market Capitalism Sector before being allowed in the front of a classroom for a maximum of 2 years at a time. Prohibit loans for race and gender studies. Ditto for quarter million dollar degrees in 7th Century Art Appreciation of sub Saharan Desert. Starbucks already has enough baristas. One of the main reasons this country is in so much trouble is because of what the universities present to the voting booths.

Ok tell me how giving away racial set-asides and preferences (oh and don’t forget about Affirmative Action) is establishing a “Disparate Impact” on the black or other minorities at Mizzou or any other institution of higher learning.
At the very least we now have names, department titles and faces to go along with the people pulling the crap in our country.
