CDC: General Mills Kansas City flour plant likely behind E. coli outbreak

Reuters: Flour produced at a General Mills Inc (GIS.N) plant in Kansas City, Missouri, was probably the source of an E.Coli outbreak that has sickened 38 people across 20 states, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Wednesday.

Ten people have been hospitalized in the outbreak, the CDC said.

General Mills said the strain of E.coli behind the illnesses had not been found in any of its flour products or in the manufacturing facility.

The Kansas City plant was open and running on Wednesday, and the company was continuing to investigate, company spokesman Mike Siemienas said.  MORE

  1. The quickest way to take control of the people is to make them fearful of their food and water supply. Shortages and rationing are next. Welcome back to Wartime 1940s, America.

2016 will be a year to remember (or forget, I suspect). 👿

  2. Every time I read a report like this my first reaction is: This is another U.S. Government shake down racket. Whether it is Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Volkswagen, or General Mills. I don’t trust the leftist
    U.S. Government.

A few years back I bought the MGM “Crime Does Not Pay” shorts collection. 50 short films from the 30’s and 40s on dvd.
It opened my eyes to the number of Organized Crime operations that are now operated or supported by the state and federal governments, e.g. selling baby parts, prostitution, protection rackets, etc. It’s no wonder
the U.S. Government went after Organized Crime. There was too much money
    up for grabs.

  3. You beat me to it Grool.
I’ll bet there is a moslem prayer area in that Kansas City plant, along with plenty of devout moslems who wipe their anus with their fingers.

  4. I got a notice from the store I bought a small bag of flour from. Not sure how E. coli can get into flour, but I took it back and got my money back. After the Chipolte fiasco, I’m not surprised at anything any more. Something is going to kill us sooner or later.
