EAG: AMERICAN FORK, Utah – A Utah school district is considering whether it can reject about $40 million in federal funding as a means of snubbing President Obama’s recent transgender school decree.
The president threatened schools across the country with the loss of federal funding in May if they do not comply with his interpretation of Title IX sex discrimination laws, and how they apply to transgender students, EAGnews reports.
The directive – delivered by Assistant Secretary of Education for Civil Rights Catherine Lhamon, and Vanita Gupta, head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division – cited Title IX in arguing that “nondiscrimination on the basis of sex requires schools to provide transgender students equal access to educational programs and activities even in circumstances in which other students, parents, or community members raise objections or concerns,” according to the Washington Post.
Some members of the Alpine School District Board of Education believe the edict is “morally reprehensible” and “an invasion of the rights of a majority,” The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Board members Wendy Hart, Paula Hill and Brian Halladay wrote in a letter to state leaders last month stating that they would rather lose the $40 million the district receives in federal funding than comply with Obama’s transgender mandate. more here
If people actually read “The Grapes of Wrath” and actually paid attention to why the Joads didn’t want to accept government help, it’s because people of that era new that federal help always came with harsh, freedom destroying edicts. Just look at what’s going on in Idaho now. Local officials accept federal dollars to take in “refugee” trash humanity from rag heads shitholes, and the next thing you know, 5 year old girls are getting raped by 12 year old Somali vermin.
And the local government are attacking their own people, threatening to jail them for objecting. Those federal dollars only have one purpose, to buy the local government from the people who live there and put it under the control of people in DC who couldn’t give a rats ass about the locals whom they all think of as worthless rubes.
From a strict dollars perspective they may come out ahead – adhering to federal regs is costly.
“Federal” money, (our money) is appropriated by Congress, not granted by Her Majesties grace and favour.

If the states would stop sending our money to the feds, they wouldn’t have to worry about getting it back from them.
Claudia, I do believe it’s employers and individuals that “vountarily” send it to the IRS.
A great president who wanted to make America great again would eliminate the Department of Education and announce that taxes would be reduced by the amount that previously went to that department.
Good to see citizens finding their backbone and taking back their liberty.
The better option would be to grab our elected officials by the throat and demand they abide by their Oaths and IMPEACH the traitor and his enabling cadre of criminals.
