The idea that Bill Clinton had been abusive to his wife is truly breathtaking. Taking petitions from women who are seeking Orders of Protection is something that’s a part of my job, and it’s a big shock to me that Hillary Clinton has something in common with my disenfranchised, broke, undereducated female clients.
I can only guess that Hillary has not divorced Bill because of what he offers her, which would be access and a direct path to power. Hillary’s options without Bill are pretty appealling–you’ve got to believe she could write her own ticket in terms of getting a job and supporting herself. Ah, but anything as quotidian as working to support herself would not appeal to Madame Queen. This is a person who is not satisfied to ride the carousel–she must plunder and pillage all the county fairs within a 100-mile radius to steal ALL the brass rings.
I think this gives us a new insight on why it is so utterly critical to her to be elected president in November. She has staked every bit of her personal (as opposed to professional) happiness on remaining in the most toxic of marriages for over four decades. If she loses the election, wel, it’s forty years of cheating, violence, and frustration down the drain.
The decision she has made to remain Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton should give us all pause. If she makes such utterly desperate calculations in her personal life, can her decision-making framework be trusted to steward this country through perilous times? My guess is NO–and I’m voting accordingly.
I lost a lot of confidence in Dickus over that whole ‘Romney is going to landslide the jughead’ poll in ’14, but I hope he can gain some traction here.
So Bill Clinton is into sax AND violence?
