Daily Caller:

Harvard psychology professor — and celebrated pop shrink — Steven Pinker has advised the Western world not to worry about the ever-increasing number of deadly acts of terrorism committed by radical Muslims.

Terror threats are “exaggerated,” Pinker said. “Due to the publicity that terrorist attacks generate, it seems like a completely rational fear to be afraid of a terrorist attack when, in reality, it should not be. It is a mistake to allow terrorism to dominate foreign policy on a global agenda.”….  MORE

  1. We go a couple of weeks without a muslim rampage and this guy gets pretty cocky. Although he might have inside info on a secret truce between Clinton and ISIS until she wins. Can’t rule that out.

  2. Then he should be the first one in line to offer Syrian refugees to live in his house then. Just like the lady in Sweden who said it was nonsense and then took in a few refugees who sexually assaulted the ladies 10 year old kid.

  3. I’m kind of split on this. Not that the Harvard Prof isn’t an asshole as that hair settles that issue but rather whether he has a small point. Decades ago the news arms of the networks or the newspapers or radio were loss-leaders as far as the bottom line was concerned. It was expected to lose money (even though it sold ads) but provide quality work in order to elicit brand loyalty to the network or paper or whatever allowing ads sold on that space to make money. The news groups for the most part were a little left of center for TV, pretty evenly split little left/little right newspapers and I imagine the same for radio.
Came the 80’s, 90, etc and media firms buying each other up in a shark like feeding frenzy and suddenly the news groups were expected to make money (or at least not lose any). Around about the same time the newsgroups were taken over by the new generation who were less reporters and more commentators and way more left politically. I think that’s about the same time the decisions were made to sensationalize the news especially terrorist attacks as every person could feel fear from those random incidents and would look for any source of news. The media also began to skew for audience with things like MSNBC going hard left, Fox going centre/right.
The clock-boy incident is a good example. While not a terrorist act it was sold with a side of terror and the media added racism to blow up the headlines and sell space. At this point the left media was accomplishing it’s agenda and adding to the bottom line.
I guess all I’m saying is when the media comes breathlessly pounding at your door read what they’ve written and if you think it seems important enough spend a few minutes verifying or getting other media viewpoints.

  4. “Harvard psychology professor — and celebrated pop shrink …”

All I had to read to know – KNOW – all what followed was complete, unadulterated, BULLSHIT.

    izlamo delenda est …

  5. Typical liberal …. liberal policies never result in any problems or dangers, they are just in people’s minds. But climate change is going to kill us all next week or sooner. These people have some seriously deficient cranial circuitry. Harvard prof, why I am not surprised. Ivy League has turned into a big stupid liberal joke. The one thing you can be assured of when meeting a recent Ivy League grad is that they are a brainwashed far left fanatic. They would not be the first person I would hire.
