   As somebody who has actually seen the signs I can attest they did not say ‘colors only’.
   I remember vividly why I remember it, was learning to read so I read everything I could.
   When I asked my mother what it meant she said:
   “Not a damn thing.” then preceded to drink from the fountain.
   First time I ever heard her cuss, the next time was when she was in the throws of advanced Alzheimer’s, even God would forgive her.
