Breitbart: Donald Trump joined Great Faith Ministries International, an African American church located in Detroit, on Saturday where he spoke to the community about the importance of faith helping to heal a divided nation.
“For centuries, the African American church has been the conscience of our country,” Trump told the congregation as he spoke briefly during the service.
The Republican nominee said African American churches have “lifted up the soul of our nation” and led the civil rights movement.
He said he wants leaders to help heal the nation by providing “a greater platform to the black churches and church goers.”
“I will always support your church — always — and defend your right to worship,” he added. “I hope my presence here will also help your voice to reach new audiences in our country and many of these audiences desperately need your spirit and your thought.”

I saw Dianny had watched his appearance at the church in Detroit and liked it so I found a link that showed it and likewise though it was very well done by Mr Trump. The crowd seem genuinely to like him and Trump was very gracious and humorous. This is the kind of thing that the dems are even more afraid of then vouchers.
Well so happens the site showing it is called Raw Story-they ran the RSBN feed which was strange. Wow the hate and vitriol here actually puts FireDogLake to shame. If you want to see some unhinged commenting, this is a cake taking SOB.
I know that REGressives are illogical but couple that with unvarnished and demented hate, and Raw Story is the bill of goods. It galled them to no end that Trump had the nerve, after a LIFETIME I TELL YA, A LIFETIME of racism, to go before a black church and lie and pander. They were even attacking the BLACK pastor for being such a tool!

I read some of the comments coming from the crowd protesting outside. Pretty much the same crowd of professional agitators who will never be satisfied with anything, no matter what.
I give DJT big points for making an honest attempt to connect. I won’t say he failed, because I suspect his words and tone came as a complete surprize to many who have heard nothing good about him from their usual Democrat sources of information. Indeed, what the hell does Detroit have left to lose??

All he can do is try. I got real tired of hearing the pundits say how it was up to him to unite the party and I’m just as tired of hearing how he ‘disrespects’ blacks and hispanics when he’s doing all he can to be honest about the state of the D plantation.
