Trump lambasted his opponent Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton for a secret tape recording of her bashing supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont—and even called for Clinton to be placed in prison and questioned as to whether she has been loyal to her husband former President Bill Clinton.
Trump said in the speech on Saturday night:
A new audio tape that has surfaced just yesterday from another one of Hillary’s high roller fundraisers shows her demeaning and mocking Bernie Sanders and all of his supporters. You know, and I’ll tell you something we have a much bigger movement that Bernie Sanders ever had. We have much bigger crowds than Sanders ever had. And we have a more important movement than Bernie Sanders ever had because we’re going to save our country, okay? We’re going to save our country. But I can tell you Bernie Sanders would have left a great, great legacy had he not made the deal with the devil. He would have really left a great legacy. Now he shows up and 120 people come in to hear him talk. Bernie Sanders would have left a great legacy had he not made the deal, had he held his head high and walked away.

Everything he says is correct. But when he goes into the gutter to accuse Hillary of infidelity and he has no proof, that becomes the headline and he looks goofy and unpresidential. He takes a really great narrative then blows it apart saying something that sounds crazy to many people.

All week long FNC “contributors” and people who seem way to free with their advice to Trump (aka people who have no or little personal skin in the game)have been calling, pleading, begging him to stick to his policy details and planks and not “go there.” I have a much different view of things.
Trump speaks for about an hour at every rally and town hall. He spends most of that time talking–very “presidentially”–about his platform. Whenever he creates a new position he often reads out the specific details, and he often refers people to his website to read specific details for the other positions because who wants to spend the time at a rally listening to the deep dive on tax brackets? So, the charge that he isn’t stating his plans is invalid — does state them, and states them often.
I think he is going after Killery and her associates because he wants her and her people to know that he’s not a soft, “nice guy” like all the other R’s they’ve ever encountered; that he’s as deadly an adversary as they’ll never want to meet up with, that he’s unafraid of their politics of personal destruction because if she’s going to go there, he’s got no reservations doing real damage to her. And the thing in her allegations are false and his are true. She wants to offer up a 15 year-old private tax return that shows nothing untoward or illegal? He’ll offer up something we all know to be true: She ran State as a conduit for favors and graft along side her own Clinton Global Initiative. She wants to smear him with allegations of sexual immorality? He’ll bring up the unhealthy and immoral situation with her husband. In my view, all he’s doing is signalling to her that if she continues to snipe, smear, allege and, to put it indelicately, fuck with him, he’s not going to simply sit back and take it in a defensive posture. The Clintons have gotten away with this sort of stuff for their entire lives. They’ve lied about people, threatened them, and probably even had them killed. We know for a fact that Bill has raped them. She can stand at a podium and “look presidential” at will. I have more faith that Americans can sense the difference between someone looking presidential and someone being presidential.
Trump’s instincts have brought him this far. I’m willing to trust his instincts on this.

He ought to start working a “Hillary crime a day” bit into his speeches. From the Cattle Futures and Whitewater to the travelgate and the debacle in Libya. Take two or three minutes and layout the crime/misjudgement/coincidence, detail her part in it, what she got out of it and if there were any consequences for her bad actions. Hell, I don’t have a problem with him hitting Clinton on the homefront with talk about Bill’s rapes and sexual assaults and the fact she didn’t do anything, actually helped him escape consequences because it illustrates her uncontrolled ambition and lust for power. Without Bill she’d have been a nobody so she had to protect a lawbreaker.
I totally agree with AbigailAdams. It is a delicate line to show Hitllary what will happen if she keeps mudslinging, in terms she can grasp. Nice guys finish last, and end up dead, when challenging her Royale Thighness. Rising above the slime is to be respected by some voters. However, many see it as weakness and giving in to poor old gramma Cankles. The list of past Republicans who lost to the Clintons and Obobo are the examples. For Trump to work into his campaign speeches the Clinton CRIME-A-DAY listing and discussion is good! But balance it with his program for recovery of America. Too much discussion about Cankles gives her free rent in his head to live there. Trump will do the right thing. He needs to utilize superb advisors within his inner circle. Trusting one person too much tends to lead his campaign off course. He is smart and will glean the best ideas from them. Losing to Cankles is NOT an option for America and Trump.
