Rancher yearns for Trump wall on US-Mexico border

afp– Arivaca (United States) (AFP) – To many, Donald Trump’s pledge to build a wall along the US-Mexico border is unrealistic. But for Jim Chilton, it’s the only way he’ll get a good night’s sleep.

The 77-year-old, a fifth-generation rancher on the Arizona border with Mexico, says he has grown weary of seeing drug smugglers — rather than just cattle — on his ranch and a wall is the answer to his troubles.

“I really admire Trump for having the insight and the knowledge to know what’s wrong with the current border system,” he said, as he surveyed the sprawling desert plains of his 75-square-mile ranch that stretches to the Mexican border.  MORE

  1. why? I mean, its only been ignored for the last 5 decades. Why start a wall now?

seriously, what has prevented the politician from fixing the problem? Just what is it? How can one group of people be so willingly and continually ignorant?

$$$ corrupt. Either that or the Manchurian Candidate was not just a novel.

  2. I offered a design back in the eights.Yes I am
an amateur civil engineer with 16 years of survey
and heavy marine construction experience. The design would
start with 1″ hardened steel sheet piling driven down
100′.100′ high towers with high powered lights and 50 cal auto guns every mile.35′ high curved back concrete wall 8’thick at the base with stainless steel razor wire at the top on both sides.Thats just the beginning.Hey! I can dream can’t I ??? 8B$ we spend on the UN could go to partial payment.Think of the jobs building and staffing the Radioationman wall !

  3. This is in my neck of the woods. My property backs up against the national forest. I live very near where Brian Terry was killed. I’ve been grilling in my back yard and watched bundles of reefer being loaded into pickups on the road in the canyon behind my house; in broad daylight. BP agents tell me it’s whack-a mole; pressure is applied in an area and the intruders leave, only to show up elsewhere.
