  1. Mrs. Uncle and I started things last Sunday with a standing rib roast, mashed potatoes, etc. We did not invite anybody, we ate the whole 4-lb thing ourselves (the last of it for lunch).

This evening the two of us are going to my sister’s place and have Thanksgiving turkey with her and my BIL, and my mother. I’m bringing the mashed potatoes (I’m told I have “the touch”) and the rest is from sister’s kitchen so I’m not sure what there will be in addition to the basics: turkey, stuffing, gravy (my sister definitely has “the touch” for gravy!), two kinds of cranberry stuff, some greens as yet to be determined, and probably pumpkin and apple pie with a variety of ice creams and cheeses.

Tomorrow we’ll have turkey sandwiches, and Saturday turkey curry with a ridiculous number of sideboys.

    Yuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

    (*braaap*)

  2. Doesn’t matter what’s on the plate. Americans have a real reason to give Thanks this year.

Dog is confused though. It’s the only day of the year when we get our dinner before he does. But he gets a nice thanksgiving mix so he’s pretty happy.

  3. our menu …. the traditional … turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy lathered over all, broccoli & cheese, cranberries, cranberry sauce, & meatballs, candied sausages, crab dip, pesto dip, fruit salad, corn on the cob w/ old bay, apple pie ala mode, pumpkin pie (of course!), home-made chocolate-chip cookies, homemade pecan turtle delights, (& a bunch of other stuff I didn’t attack my gastrointestinal system with) various beverages (adult & otherwise), fresh-pressed coffee, brandy & cigars …

    I am about to pop!

  4. We normally have around 14 people for Thanksgiving. Deep fried turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato soufflé, green beans, squash casserole, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pies, pecan pies. Proceeded by too many appetizers.

This year, due to some family circumstances, six of us went to the restaurant where one of our daughters works and feasted on a magnificent buffet. Too many items to mention. Still stuffed!

Happy Thanksgiving to all at iotwreport. 🙂

  5. We ate at a restaurant this year, for the first time ever. We are moving next Wednesday, and our kitchen is packed in boxes, as is the rest of the house. It was fine (and a lot less work) but it isn’t the same.
